Anne Thompson suggests Macbeth may arguably be the best performance of Denzel's career GOATzel! I still need to see the performance, but if that’s the case, and I think David Erlich from Indiewire said the same thing, then it’s going to be difficult to rank this dudes performances when it’s all said and done. Guy doesnt have a prime.

Already asked my movie critic friend to get me into an earlier critics screening (doubtful but maybe) ...........or to hook me up with a home screener if one becomes available a little early..........otherwise, theater obviously in late December like some common movie riff raff person....

I never would have coupled Fran and Denzel together but it appears they have good chemistry.

This movie will be worth the price of admission. Getting excited about it. Ugh, gotta wait until Christmas though.

She actually succeeded in making Romeo and Juliet more interesting. I didn't know what to expect when this was first announced. I must say the visuals that have come out have been incredible. That shot of the Weird Sisters... amazing.

The moment I saw them together at the 47th AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Denzel, I knew that these two "matched". And I don't think it's easy to match with either of them, they seems to have strong individual personalities but the mutual respect, the sharing love for Acting, etc... it worked for them. I'm not against another movie together soon and everything Frances touch these days turn to gold, so... Queen and King...and a little man who struggles to finish his plate.

They both have that no-nonsense, all about the work and craft mentality. Blue-collar like, go and do the job and then go home. Both are from the same generation and progressed in their careers at the same time in the business. I would venture to say they’ve been admirers of each other’s careers for years. One thing I took from the deadline interview with Joel and Frances is that Joel and Denzel had been talking over the years about working together but just had to find something. I’m hoping with this film and potential success that this won’t be the only Coen-Denzel collaboration. It would be awesome if Denzel becomes a part of the Coens acting company in future films. Looking at Denzel and Frances get along well, I wouldn’t be surprised if they work together again down the road. They may even do theater together as well. What a ticket that would be!

Little White Lies calling Denzel the "Thane Of Acting ".
This is the likely narrative I was talking about that could potentially make this a procession/coronation for Washington. The willingness to now acknowledge that he is for many, the greatest actor alive, if not the greatest actor of all time. And a third Oscar should be a given. We shall see if it plays out like that though.

Probably pleased and appreciate that the film turned out well and that this is probably the biggest profile for a Shakespearian film adaptation in decades. This could be a big hit with BAFTAs.

I would be surprised if he missed a nomination yet again because of the new jury/committee nominating system, but it's hard to predict if he could actually win the BAFTA if the whole membership is voting. On one hand, they have historically snubbed him. On the other hand, Shakespeare is a British institution and British critics have said he nailed one of the biggest roles in the Canon. And his constant snubs have actually become a very public embarrassment for the organisation, and there may be a general feeling that it's time to give him a win to make the organisation seem less tarnished. He could potentially end up as the BAFTA favorite, which would be fucking weird, given his history with them. Either way, I don't think he needs BAFTA to win the Oscar. His Oscar record without them is phenomenal.

Do you guys know how much screentime Kathryn Hunter has in the movie? Is it even enough for supporting? Her voice is legit scary in the trailer.
