He's certainly brilliant, but one thing working against him (aside from the genre) is that much of the impact of his performance comes from it being cumulative. Even with the influx of younger members, we don't know if AMPAS has the same relationship with Jackman as Wolverine as the general public. Also, Jackman has 'The Greatest Showman' coming out this year, which seems much more Oscar friendly (though remember when we all thought Ryan Gosling would be nominated for 'The Ides of March' before he started winning awards for 'Drive'?) Gosling didn't win any awards for "Drive", that was Albert Brooks, Gosling only got a BFCA nom for "Drive" while he got a Globe nom for "The Ides of March"

After seeing the film yesterday I'm just gonna be so sad if he doesn't. Stewart was great but you could tell Jackman gave it everything he had

He definitely should. A wonderful, layered performance from someone who truly knows this character inside out. The Makeup also deserves all sorts of accolades.

Not sure how you can say that so definitively in March.
Stewart getting a nom would be great though since he's never been nominated.

Stewart was also nomination worthy, that "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" when they were leaving the casino fucking killed me
With both of them it was Oscar clip chasing Oscar clip, really
