Only major nominee I haven't seen is About Elly and I'm also super surprised it even placed at all (just considering a lot of the picks tend to be very predictable or at least tend to have a lack of foreign options, so it makes me proud!). Thanks again for doing this! Get on it. Farahani is a revelation, and the movie instantly moved into my top 5 of the year. I still voted for the Basterds over it (in fact, the only category that I gave to Elly was Farahani), but it is really terrific.

So when are the 2008 AMARAs getting started? I like having it so I can read the FYCs.

Immediate reactions...
That Harry Potter win for cinematography is magic.
That streak of wins from Make Up / Hair through to Ensemble Cast is absolute excellence.
The Avatar win for Visual Effects is of course worthy, I just wish something inspired like District 9 could of snuck it.
Inglourious Basterds for Costume Design is the first weak winner. It was good work, but come on...not in 2009.
Fantastic Mr. Fox for Production Design is almost as great as the Potter win.
If anyone else had won Supporting Actress it would have been plain silly.
Inglourious Basterds for editing is worthy for sure, especially in comparison to that Costume Design win.
Up has a gorgeous Score, so no problems there.
I know I'm probably one of the only detractors it has, but I don't like "The Weary Kind", so this is a second poor win.
Original Screenplay is the one win for Inglourious Basterds that I have zero issue with.
Again, this win for In the Loop in Adapted is a great and deserved one.
I'm pleased with the Tarantino win for Director. He isn't my personal winner, but I do nominate him.
I'm delighted Rockwell took actor. I don't remember is I voted for him or Copley, but either one deserved it.
Actress...whatever. I haven't seen it, so I don't care.
The expected winner took Best Picture and I'm more than fine with it, as it's my #2 of the year.
So aside from Costome Design and Song, these might be the best set of winners we've come up with yet.
