Exciting news indeed. TV horror needs a kick in the ass.

I didn't know he was still alive. I also haven't seen any of his movies.

I should mention his TV film "Do You Like Hitchcock?" (2005) while nowhere near his peak stuff, I kind of like a bit myself (5.7 on IMDB) - it has some funny and goofy and fun touches and is gory as he's ever been in a way. Now I don't think the maestro is a better filmmaker now than he was then but the format may inspire something in him.

Even though his last absolutely great film - to me anyway - was 1996's Stendahl Syndrome with a great Asia Argento performance (her only great one!) - I still say Sleepless (2001) with Max Von Sydow and Do You Like Hitchcock? (2005) - have flashes of his old wit. I hold out hope for the old maestro.

Long-time partner and collaborator, actress Daria Nicolodi has passed away at 70y/o. They made 7 movies together - she cowrote Suspiria!!! She worked with other notable Italian directors too, like Shock with Bava. Any fans of these, I haven't seen: Ettore Scola (Macaroni) Elio Petri (Property is No Longer a Theft) Francesco Rosi (Many Wars Ago)

She's so crucial and integral to his best work too in ways that made him so major - there's a feminine component to much of Argento that's from her - what she added to Suspiria as a writer but also how he used her and what she gave back to the films.
You could write a great essay on the masculine/feminine elements to Argento's work and you couldn't really assess that without assessing her.
RIP

This'll shoot from June-July.... and the cowriter/longtime collaborator Franco Ferrini recently, enticingly, said: “It’s a chase-based movie, a cat and mouse. This is something new. In other Dario movies there were long suspense scenes, but this one lasts the whole second half of the movie.”

Too bad Daria left us last year, she would have probably loved this.

Occhiali Neri (Dark Glasses) wrapped yesterday! First pic may be an actual still from the movie. Also seems the plot may be kinda similar to Cat O Nine Tails.
