I just wanted the distinction of creating this thread. I'm seeing it tonight in IMAX and I'm stoked but also prepared to probably shed manly tears.

I'm so freaking pissed off because the stupid distributor actually decided to make a version with dubbing (!) and now the normal subtitles showings are so scarce I probably won't see it this week

Jackman, Stewart, and Keen all deserve Oscar nominations It's the best superhero film since The Dark Knight. Patrick Stewart's monologue in the middle of the film shattered me as did the final shot of the film, which is the best final shot in a comic book film ever.
It's been two complete months of 2017 and I've already seen five great films and one 10/10. Hallelujah!

I thought I was gonna lose it when Logan dies but some fucking moron made a stupid "NO!" sound and started giggling with his idiot buddies. Other than that, the whole film was highly satisfying. Curious but what are your five great films so far? Mine are this, Get Out, Lego Batman, John Wick, and Split.

Question: how reliant is the film on X-Men continuity? Would someone who hasn't seen all the other films be able to follow it just fine? Asking because my gf knows who Logan and Professor X are and she has some interest in this, but she's seen just parts of X2 at best.

Similar to The Force Awakens, you don't HAVE to have seen the other films, but it REALLY helps considering the layers and depth between the characters.

I'm guessing, John Wick and Get Out along with Logan, but can't think of any others.

I have a question. Would it be fine to go see this without having seen many of the previous Wolverine films?

I have a question. Would it be fine to go see this without having seen many of the previous Wolverine films? Having not seen Logan: Since they've already retconned Origins and it looks like they're ignoring The Wolverine, I think Days of Future Past would probably be an essential (as well as at least knowing the character) one to know.

I saw it yesterday. It is SO GOOD!!! Like, I don't think it could be better? I saw it in IMAX too. The boy at the end with the Wolverine toy... heartbreak.

Having seen the others adds a some back story of course that makes you feel certain aspects more, but it is certainly not necessary in my opinion, particularly if you have even the vaguest general idea of the X-Men.

Is it true some sort of Deadpool short is attached? Yeah, it's in the beginning and is funny but does feel out of place and a bit unnecessary

When I'm in the cinema waiting for a serious R rated movie I don't want to see Reynolds throwing thousands jokes at the audience hoping any of them stick (which was Deadpool imho)

A question - how important is swearing to the overall experience of the film? I ask because I wanna go see the movie but it's dubbed here in Russia so obviously that part of the R rating will be lost.

The rating (15 here) is for it's violence. Those claws are sharp. The casualties are many. And occasionally kinda gruesome.

8.8 rating, weighted at 8.4 for the Top 250 rating. 26K votes.
I think this one stays on the list for a couple months.

Just got back from it. FUCKING LOVED IT! WOW, I stayed away from all the reviews cause I hate spoilers and I didn't think it would pack such an emotional punch but it did. Damn I got a little misty eyed at the ending . The acting all around was great (especially Jackman) . The little girl was superb . ditto on Stewart. Also I think with this film and the upcoming Predator film, Boyd Holbrook will be a force to reckon with. People are starting to take notice. Definitely the best X Men film yet and imo it shits on all the Disney/MCU films . Yeah I said it! 9/10
