The most Oscary Oscarism that ever Oscared. Oh yeah, if there's anything that the Oscars love it's a film directed by a POC female staring a 60+ year-old woman. I don't wanna go wildly off topic with this but are the Chinese considered POC?

I'm not sure, I honestly don't like the term in general, but my point was just that a film directed by a non-white woman achieving major awards success would be unprecedented.

It's great when one of your most anticipated movies just comes up out of the blue.

Am I the only one who finds McDormand the most annoying actress in the entire show business?? I love her but one of the interesting things about her is that of the 12 living Triple Crown of Acting winners (excluding Rita Moreno) - she likely will be the most Oscar winning (she can easily get to 3), the most Oscar nominated female at least....... and end up being given far greater credit for range - her weak spot - than you would expect - on this list. She's either last of the current crop of TC winners for range or maybe ahead only of Viola Davis (very arguable). The Tragedy of Macbeth is a huge role for her in this specific way and sort of reassesses her entire career to date in a lot of ways.........if she can pull it off. Jeremy Irons Vanessa Redgrave Maggie Smith Al Pacino Geoffrey Rush Ellen Burstyn Christopher Plummer Helen Mirren Frances McDormand Jessica Lange Viola Davis Glenda Jackson

Yeah I excluded Moreno since she comes from a different era and quite doesn't fit with the other 12 in some other ways imo ........but I wanted to acknowledge her too

Cinematography is looking like a mighty solid bet here, as it really does evoke The Rider's beauty.

The only way that could be a more annoying teaser was if it actually ended with McDormand walking right up a staircase to get her Oscar.

Ok, so she's taking a walk... and...
Ok, she's just taking a walk.
The end.
Cinematography looks fine, though.

Yeah I think those are our top two at the moment. I still feel Spike Lee can be a contender too, even though his film was released really early.
