Yeah but she's not just sharing her experience impartially, she's projecting her experience onto others and saying people should lay off Weinstein because she herself individually had a professional working relationship with him, whilst completely ignoring the fact that many had horrifying experiences with him. If she was just sharing impartially that's fine. But the minute she advocates for something without taking into account anyone else's experiences she should probably shut the fuck up. More than 80 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct. If Binoche wasn't one of those women that's great, but it's also absolutely not relevant to how he should be treated or how anyone else should be expected to feel about him. We're reaching a moment where asking to wait and see what justice says is advocating for someone. Is that really true though? Weinstein's case is particularly monstrous and you have to take that into consideration. As far as waiting for justice to be done, fuck that. He's been accused by more than 80 women. There's no doubt in my mind that he's scum. 100 years ago rich and powerful men like him could have made all these cases go away in court or just keep them out of court in the first place. Hell, he DID make a lot of them go away. Until recently most of these women wouldn't have dared report him. Social media afforded a voice to his victims where the justice system traditionally hasn't and still doesn't. Public opinion and visibility is all these women have on their side. Maybe Binoche can be a character witness at his trial but until then, I'm fine if people want to keep whipping him through the streets. He made his bed. Fuck him.

Well, you gave me the impression that she was on his side, dunno, maybe I misuderstood I get what you said but we just saw the last couple of days that visibility and public opinions is not that helpful. When I saw the video and for how she said it, it made sense to me, why would anyone like to spend energy throwing more shit to an already shitty person, it's seems to me a vicious cirlce that's driven by anger or inclusivity and support something ( those tweets "my heart and prayers go to blah blah blah ). Just let do justice do their work, honestly I don't see Weinstein working ever again, he's done, he might have a luxurious jail, but that's all. And hopefully more victims will find the right moment to denouce their abusers, but the circus around seems to me quite gratuitous, and I think that's what she was talking about, for the way she said it, but maybe that's how I perceived it

I don't buy this at all. It's true that Miramax productions were the only times she put a foot on Hollywood, but I don't think Andre Techine, Michael Haneke, Diane Kurys and every single french production she did the next 10 years approach her because she won an oscar, she even won Berlin for that performance, and now she's the one who go with directos and says "I want to work with you". She said she has fond memories of working on Chocolat/English Patient but that's all. That's her experience, her perspective.Yeah but she's not just sharing her experience impartially, she's projecting her experience onto others and saying people should lay off Weinstein because she herself individually had a professional working relationship with him, whilst completely ignoring the fact that many had horrifying experiences with him. Agree with you that he is a monster, a bully and a sexual predator, but 4 the 80 women claims, only a few could proove it.
