Just finished the Spyro trilogy. Spyro the Dragon, fun for what it is, but incredibly bland and boring compared to Banjo and Crash. Ripto’s Rage (or Gateway to Glimmer to you Brits and Aussies), one of the best, most varied, most quirky and soulful, and most entertaining platformers ever. Year of the Dragon, a really good game, but perhaps is too big for its own good. Still, I love a good collectathon.
Cant wait for the Reignited Trilogy at the end of the year. Think I might pop in a classic Rare game for fun next.

Just beat Final Fantasy XV. I see where a lot of the critics are coming from: the story feels fragmented at times, the female love interest is woefully underdeveloped, the combat system might take some getting used to . . . but for what it is, I quite enjoyed it.

Just won my first ever game of Fortnite (took my bloody time with it) and then I won again like an hour later.

So I just beat Uncharted 4, it is damn amazing, beautifully crafted game with a wonderful sense of adventure. Does it top Uncharted 2? maybe...the point is that I'm gonna miss these characters. Can't wait for another Neil Druckmann creation: The Last of Us Part II

Finally playing Horizon Zero Dawn, after owning it for months. Oh! And Super Mario Odyssey as well. Since then I've finished these two + Dishonored 2, Inside and Firewatch. One masterpiece after the other! Now I'm playing Assassin's Creed Origins.

Viva Pinata - Gotta love good ol’ Rare, taking what is usually a genre of games I hate (life and garden sims), and distilling it into such a charming and well-rounded little game. So much color, so much inventive and quirky imagination, and its just the perfect unwind-in-your-spare-time game, but it’s also easy to get addicted.
Rare Replay is just one of the greatest gaming compilations I’ve ever seen.

And Perfect Dark still holds up. Goldeneye may have popularized modern shooting standards, but this game perfected them.
And is there any game composer as good as Grant Kirkhope?

I seriously think this is the first time I 100% FC a game. Not even this one when I first played it years ago on Gamecube. Time to move on to Harvester. I hear it's all sorts of fucked up.

Picked up the God of War collection for the PS3. About two-thirds of the way through the first game (never played any of them before), and I'm quite digging it so far.

I’ll just list out everything I’m playing right now since I’m bouncing back and forth.
Beyond: Two Souls - PS4 (Replay) - Remixed playthrough makes the story beats stronger than the Memento style hop-arounds, even if the story, and the straightforward, single direction gameplay that really only changes if you’re intentionally making bad choices leave a lot to be desired. Still, Page and Dafoe single-handedly carry this game.
Uncharted 4 Multiplayer - Amy go to daily multiplayer grind. Mostly I’m just playing it for the daily challenges so I can get extra rewards. But when I do feel like getting into matches, oh boy, is it ridiculously fun.
Rare Replay - The greatest gaming compilation I’ve ever played. Can’t decide if I want to try Jet Force Gemini or Kamdo next.
Conker: Live & Reloaded - Weird experience to go from N64 to here. Art style is too clean and perfect for me and diminishes the hilarious character expressions (the dead eyes don’t help), but Conker’s controls are so much more fluid and refined. One thing that hasn’t changed? This is still the funniest game I’ve ever played, and Conker is easily one of my favorite game characters period.
Knights of the Old Republic - I feel really bad that other stuff kept me away from this. It’s such a great time, like a proto-Mass Effect tapping into the world of Star Wars in ways I always dreamed of.

God of War (2005): The graphics are quite outdated (I've been spoiled on modern games), and I thought it was annoying that you couldn't pause during a cut-scene or even get proper subtitles (that I could find, anyway). Still, the gameplay was quite strong (even if the QTEs were the death of me; took me half a day just to bring down the armored minotaur boss). I hope the second game improves upon these issues and gives us more narrative meat.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (the old one) - See that, EA? It wasn’t that hard. All you had to do was retool what you already had and STOP BEING GREEDY CASH GRABBING CU-

Beating the 10 levels was hard enough.

I think the only times I have were Jak and Daxter and Horizon: Zero Dawn, both of which were really easy to get.

Xenogears
It's... bad. But it's a charming, old school sort of bad that is so stupid that it loops back into enjoyable if you are willing to take the piss out of it.

OH MY GOD! if there’s one thing that Conker Live and Reloaded far outstrips and outshines Bad Fur Day in, it’s the *much* needed improvements in the shooting mechanics. It’s those sections that were among the worst parts of replaying Bad Fur Day, because they’re so cumbersome and frustrating and the camera always seems to fight you (especially those laser fields and the escape that were the bane of my existence), I always dreaded them going in and even rage quit several times.
In Live and Reloaded, the controls are refined, the strafing is smooth, and being able to run and gun is so much more satisfying than standing in place and waiting to get attacked. I noticed halfway through the key collection quest in “Spooky”, where I usually make a mad dash and don’t bother shooting anything, I was actually enjoying wasting time firing at the undead. But “It’s War” was practically a revelation, because all the frustration has been taken out, thanks to the use of the Halo twin stick scheme, and the camera controls being tight and precise. It turned what used to be my least favorite section of BFD, into one of my absolute favorite parts (if not my favorite) of L&R. That is huge.
The one downside to the game is that the hover board race is much tougher to control than the N64 port, but if it’s one part of the game making me want to tear my hair out versus ten, I’ll take the lesser of two evils.

It's actually not required for plat since it's DLC. The plat isn't that hard, and you can use cheats after you beat the game. As for those games, what about Telltale games?

I got my N64 to work on my TV. For a while, I thought the system had crapped the bed, but I was relieved that it still works. There are some real relics on there I wasn’t ready to part with. Picture looks like shit, but I never loved these games for their clarity.
And finally got around to Banjo-Tooie recently. I think it’s too big, and has a little too much backtracking, and so I prefer Kazooie’s simplicity. But this is still a terrific game, full of the same variety and endearing personality that made me fall in love with this series. So, so good.

Just started Child of Light and I'm already digging it. The battle system is old-fashioned, but the tweaks they've made to it (the ability to interrupt enemy attacks and their ability to interrupt yours, the blinding system of Igniculus) keep it exciting. The atmosphere is lot of fun, doing a great job of evoking the fairy tale world. I'm not minding the rhymes at the moment, although I can see how people would.
Even after a few minutes, I'm already on board with what Ubisoft has delivered here. I'll be gone all weekend and won't have any chance to play, but oh boy am I excited to get back home already.

Anyone else hate it on Steam when they include achievements only unlockable through DLC of the game?
I was at like 88% on Town of Salem... now I'm at like 65% because of Coven's achievements being mixed up with the original.

Clone Hero is a fucking nightmare if you don't have a proper Guitar Hero guitar. I have an old Wii guitar but I can't hook it up to my PC so I have to roll with my Guitar Hero Live one and you have no idea how torturous it is to hit the classic notes on the Live guitar.
