Is one of the achievements "marry everybody in town and have kids with them?" Because I may start the game up if I'm rewarded with a gold star for owning a harem Nah, one is siding with the town and the other is with Joja Mart (his name is aptly JojaMan).. but it's beating the arcade games at the bar that's making me curse whoever made these damn achievements! I've never understood "achievements." I do what I like in a game, the 100% thing never made sense to me if it just becomes work. I'm all for games that make me work for a reward (have I mentioned Dark Souls in the past twenty minutes, I really like Dark Souls, Dark Souls is great, everybody should play Dark Souls), but just getting a sticker for my schoolbook never appealed to me.

Personally, I only go for 100% achievements if they're story-based or the random tasks given are achievable. I'm not too jazzed about getting achievements based on the hardest difficulty or evil runs (I don't like to play bad guys in RPGs). Like in BioShock Infinite, I basically 100%-ed the whole game (explored every area, collected everything) with only the 1999 Mode-related achievements remaining, and I'm not cut out for that difficulty yet so I'm content with not getting true 100% completion for a little while longer. Same with Burial at Sea - Episode 2 where I only have the 1998 Mode achievement remaining. I have genuine 100% completion on Burial at Sea - Episode 1 and Clash in the Clouds has tasks so absurdly difficult that I'm fine with not truly completing it.

I like how in the wild card ending for New Vegas after I spare the legion’s leaders (including Caesar who’s tumor I removed) and tell them to fuck off back to the East, the NCR General comes up to me with compliments and shit like I’m not about to sic my securitrons on him. Bro I shot your president point blank in the face, ate his corpse in broad daylight and I’m wearing his suit while talking to you

Bloodborne is quite easily the best game I've ever played. Grant us eyes, grant us eyes!

Bloodborne is quite easily the best game I've ever played. Grant us eyes, grant us eyes! I wish that I had a PS4 just so I could play this. Dark Souls is my current favorite, but I've gotten everything out of it that the game will give me. Unless I'm one of those weirdoes who does twenty NG+ runs to make the game hit harder every time, there's nothing left.

Who are you going to side with? Not there yet but I'll report back. I don't know much about the game except Stephen didn't enjoy making that decision.

going back to ancient Greece with AC Odyssey. The world was so huge and gorgeous and the game systems pretty fun. Haven't played since 2020 but I explored basically all of it so we'll see how long it takes until I get sick of it again. And when happens, I have AC Valhalla (finally) installed and ready to go.

Just finished the main quest (but not the patch quests) of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. Before ever starting FF14, I had heard about how Shadowbringers had the best story in the whole franchise.
It doesn't. Not by a long shot. Sure, it is good by FF14 standards - meaning that it isn't a complete fucking trainwreck - but by FF standards as a whole this is bland, by-the-book storytelling without one piece of personality to it. The fights are better than ever and the community is still a blast, making it hard not to spontaneously roleplay with these idiots at times - it's impossible not to smile when you are about to start the ascent to Mt. Gulg to decide the fate of the world and you find four people dressed in tank tops and tightly fitting golden shorts dancing at the foot of the mountain - but the story is sooooooooo mediocre. Just because the villain is mopey and occasionally cries doesn't mean that he's well-developed or sympathetic, guys. It just means that he has traded intimidation factor for "a tragic backstory." That tragic backstory does nothing to hide that he wants to destroy the world, and the writers seem well aware that they haven't actually crafted a villain with any depth since they actively undercut everything he says (as they should, as his motivations are so deeply moronic and his plans so deeply evil that I can't help but roll my eyes at them).
It's just... tiring. A waste of time - a very, very long time - between the actual fun bits of engaging with other players. Heavensward was clearly a fluke. A top-tier FF story in a sea of crap that hasn't been good since the tenth game. Stormblood was predictable, boring, by-the-book writing, and Shadowbringers was more of the same.
Please, Hydaelyn, make Lolorito one of the main heroes from here on out, just so I have somebody that is actually interesting in the main quest...

I just started Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker and I'm just vibing right now. Old Sharlayan is my dream city, and it's cool to just... sit here for awhile. I'm enjoying the chance to slow down and just take in an awesome looking city again. Sharlayan may even have Limsa outclassed for atmosphere. I'm having fun with this respite before some more "the world is in peril" drama. This is how I first began enjoying the game, little things like this.
I feel so naked without my sprout icon though. My old friend is gone, and I am sad that he will never grace me with his presence again. It's like I grew up overnight and lost my childhood innocence without realizing.

Tried AC Valhalla for like 5 hours before I got sick of it. Worst $30 I ever spent and it took like 3 hours to install too Still having fun with Odyssey. I didn't think it'd have much replay value after I got sick of it in 2020 but there's always something to do between fighting mercs, clearing areas, exploring, inventory management, ship upgrades--it's full of grindy busywork that I think a lot of people hate but I enjoy it and as long as the main quest is active in the background I always feel like I have something else to do. Valhalla in contrast has no loot system at all, practically no character customization, and a really unintuitive skill-tree. It felt so empty and depressing.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Take a shot every time somebody says "war economy."
I am not liking this game at all right now. The shopping system removes all need for item management, the psyche system is laughably half-assed, the mechanics of "helping" one faction doesn't even qualify as quarter-assed, and the story is sleepwalking through the motions. I feel like Kojima made this just to satisfy people. There is no heart in this.

Finished Tiny Tina's Wonderlands...
Meh. I don't see myself replaying this one as I had the others. Plus, the ending was terrible.

It turns out that shooting yourself in the head results in an instant game over in Disco Elysium. Damn, I thought that move was gonna crack the case.

My first try I died from a heart attack grabbing my tie from the ceiling fan. A game over within 3 minutes from something as innocuous as reaching all of 2 feet.

My first try I died from a heart attack grabbing my tie from the ceiling fan. A game over within 3 minutes from something as innocuous as reaching all of 2 feet. I didn't fail that skill check, I guess. I just died by asking my partner for his gun and immediately sticking it in my mouth and pulling the trigger. I... okay, I kind of guessed what would happen, but I have been playing for over a week and haven't died yet, so I did have in my mind that dying may not be a mechanic in the game. Turns out that I was very, very wrong.
