The Last Guardian: This was so frustrating because this likely could've been a masterpiece maybe even on par with Shadow of the Colossus, and the flaws holding it back feel like they should've been corrected with, I don't know, just basic playtesting? For all the shit that Death Stranding got for having such a detailed physics system that it made parts of the gameplay obnoxiously difficult, this is about as bad an example of the same phenomenon. This game is beautiful, even awe-inspiring at times, and the narrative is so touching and I deeply felt the bond created between the two characters. And I absolutely love Trico with my whole heart even if I spent most of the game yelling at him for not being responsive to my commands. But oh my god if I ever again in my life have to throw another barrel onto an elevated platform I'm going to lose it.

Silent Hill 2: Once I adjusted to it and finally figured how the hell to, you know, walk around... I think this become one of my favorite things I've ever played. Sure some of it feels a little outdated (but has aged astonishingly well for the most part), but holy hell, I was just kept breathless by so much of this. The atmosphere, the music, the sound design, the imagery, oh my god, I could gush on and on about it. Nothing more horrifying than desperately shooting your way through Cronenbergian nightmare monsters on your last leg of ammo, or frantically running around a haunted small town encased in a Lynchian darkness with only a dim flash light to help you along.

I have finally finished the Burial at Sea expansions. I actually finished Episode 1 back in December, but I took a break before getting into Episode 2 in time for the Christmas holidays. Episode 1 was pretty good but pretty short; a lazy ass like me managed to get literally all the achievements in just over 5 hours of playtime. Episode 2 was harder due to me not being experienced with stealth games, scarcer resources and Elizabeth being far weaker than any other BioShock player character, but managed to make up for it with challenging yet fun gameplay, eerie and exceptionally creepy atmosphere and an emotional, bittersweet ending. I didn't vibe with some of the retcons, but otherwise I really enjoyed the DLC.
With that, my journey through the BioShock series has come to an end. It's time to play something else now.

Currently shuffling between a bunch of first-person shooters. Doom 1993, Halo: Combat Evolved, No One Lives Forever, Deus Ex, to name a few.

Kentucky Route Zero: Oftentimes this felt more like I was reading a collection of George Saunders stories than playing a video game. In other words, a point-and-click adventure made just for me. This is some breathtaking storytelling, where all it really does is allow you to choose the beautiful prose that fills the pages of its unforgettable, haunting narrative. There's an obvious Lynch homage in Act 3 that's straight-up one of my favorite moments in any game. This is such a super niche thing, but I was blown away it.

Put down a massive rebellion against me in crusader kings now I gotta execute half of my vassals and their families. The game automatically imprisoning the vassals who rebelled against you upon surrendering makes life so much easier. It’s just having to imprison their family members one by one that’s so time consuming and tedious
God I love being a total psychopath in this game

Just had the host of a Golf with your Friends game kick me for "jumping weird" in a game where there is a powerup literally called "double jump".
...in reality it was because I was a good 15 strokes ahead of the next person.

Entrenched pretty heavily into Final Fantasy XIV. MMOs have always intimidated me but I absolutely adore this game.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Masterful game, amazing soundtrack, interesting gameplay mechanic and quite unique. Sure it can be tough as hell and very hard, as are most FROMSOFTWARE games, but once you get the hang of it (gameplay/combat wise) you become a pro. It's a game that requires patience and hardwork but it's a rewarding experience for sure. I'm trying to go for the Platinum but I'm missing a couple of trophies...yet

Just started Kentucky Route Zero. It's, uh, just meandering pointlessness garbed in random surrealism to appeal to critics, isn't it?

I am, of course, also committing acts of genocide towards those who will not swear fealty to satan

Banjo-Tooie is a great game... but it’s WAY too big for its own good.
