Finished The Red Strings Club today. Really good game with a lovely soundtrack, but the story is a bit muddled and it has a hugely depressing ending. A bit short, too.

I'm past my second boss (Tower Knight). Feels a bit like a dry run for Dark Souls, but the fights are intense and fun. I can't fault it for not being my favorite game ever. Would I like more exploration instead of funneled, Crash Bandicoot type levels? Yeah. But the gameplay is solid, and the only problems I'm having are because my controller is broken - my D-pad sometimes goes mad and switches my weapons, items and shields, which can spell bloody death very easily if I'm not aware of it. So I'm digging this pretty well right now. Hell, I may even try the travesty that was Dark Souls 2 again, this has me in such a good mood.

Oh yeah, so I finished God of War the other day. I know it's been continually praised for its narrative, which for me was a bit underwhelming actually. I mean, it's pretty great storytelling, but still, I feel like it's just using the "gritty reimagining" tropes we keep seeing and doesn't do much to enhance it actually. That said, it gets the job done for this story, even if it's a bit jarring how the main conflict towards the end is focusing on two of the side characters, and while it's obviously meant to mirror our main characters and brings their arcs to their close, I feel like it coulda focused more closely on Kratos and Atreus and the struggles they were dealing with rather than placing all the stakes on the supporting characters. That said, I still really appreciated the more small-scale, intimate approach to the storytelling, and the emotional weight was certainly there. There's a shit ton of awe-inspiring moments, the world-building is pretty great, and, yeah, the gameplay is just some of the most fun I've ever played, and is just the right amount of challenging for my liking, too. I did get annoyed with practically all of the side characters, but that might've just been me embodying Kratos a bit too much, who knows. Anyway, pretty great shit.

Just beat Breath of the Wild and I gotta say... while nothing will top the gut punch that was Mipha, the ending was pretty beautiful in its own way.
Far, far, far from a perfect game... in fact it's not even one I'd consider to be great... but I did love the story and the characters. But Jesus Christ I was so OVER prepared for the last boss fight. Like, remember the gun nuts from Tremors? Yeah, that was me hitting up Ganon at the end.

My friend convinced me to finally get Overwatch, so I’m gonna spend some time trying that out later today.

Currently playing through Bloodborne for the first time while in lockdown and pulling my hair out. This Gothic architecture is gorgeous.

I'm planning on starting Her Story today. Looks like a fairly unique game, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. Edit: This game is a lot of fun, but I'm at the point now where I am getting a pen and paper and writing out timestamps for every single video. Which I should have been doing from the beginning, so that I wouldn't be so lost. But hey, I thought this would be a simple tale of deciphering her story and figuring out if she's lying. Once I figured out that she's two people, I almost wanted to cry at all the faulty work I had done. Another edit: I threw in the towel in, I feel like I'm THIS CLOSE but I can't work it out. So I'm watching a let's play. I don't feel so bad about being dense anymore, because this player is baaaaaaad. Another edit: Okay, after mulling over my notes, I'm only confused on one thing. I *must* figure this out. Everything else is background, I've worked out everything but the single most important part of her story: WHY DOES SHE SAY THAT HANNAH IS GONE? I can't find a single solitary reason for why Eve appears and tells police "the true story." I thought that maybe Hannah was *framing* Eve in an earlier interview (perhaps that was Hannah playing Eve playing Hannah in the July 1st interview?) but that theory is full of holes (can Hannah play guitar. Also ridiculous, but I've already established that Hannah is two women who fooled their parents into thinking that they were one person. Ridiculous is the word of the day.
Oh, and Eve murdered her parents, right? It was her way of getting Hannah to "come back" after the marriage.

My friend has me hooked on Dead By Daylight. That game was one of the few that I would actually watch streams of... but then I saw old youtube plays of Friday the 13th: The Game and that completely won me over.

I'm pretty much not doing anything except playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Sometimes I try watching a movie but I just... don't want to.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I put my bias in check and have really enjoyed this so far. Honey, wait until you get to the end! Heart attack! Meant to update that I finished it. I really liked this main quest -- some very gorgeous animation and scenery. Wasn't crazy about all the lock picking. The duo were great together and shared some wonderful moments. I thought it ended very abruptly though. The final boss fight was lackluster and I didn't think much of Asav as an antagonist, unfortunately. Still, I had a lot of fun.

Shadow of The Colossus: Remake Gorgeous looking game, it was way ahead of its time. I still think is a timeless masterpiece (some game mechanics can be frustrating at times, but still...). The remake is a beautiful reminder of its important legacy.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Can't stop playing this. Entertaining as fuck.
