Well, De Vito's Penguin was exceptional but Farrell's transformation is also amazing.

Well, De Vito's Penguin was exceptional but Farrell's transformation is also amazing. He kind of looks like a cross between Jim Gandolfini, Daniel Auteuil and Alfred Molina😁

To me he's rocking the early 80s Powers Boothe look..... Goddamn it! Too true! 😂👌 I've always loved me some Powers Boothe. I miss the shit out of him (rip💔🙏). Him and Bill Paxton dying just a few months apart... Christ ! Still can't fathom that terribly sad fact.

From my Pops over at World of Reel
Principal photography on Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” began in January 2020, but was suspended on March 14th due to the COVID shutdown. Filming eventually resumed on September 3, only to be put on pause again after Robert Pattinson (who plays Batman) tested positive for COVID-19. Filming was finally completed on March 13th, 2021 more than a fully year after it began.
Oh, and there were reshoots last month as well.
Unsurprisingly, “The Batman” has had its release date go from its original December 2020 launch to June 25, 2021 and now to March 4, 2022 ( which would 27 months after production began on the film).
Reeves’ movie was test screened at the Warner Bros parking lot on Friday and rumors are now pointing towards a 3-hour runtime for “The Batman.” Of course, this could just be a very rough cut, and no other details have been leaked about the screening, but the runtime does hint at a very ambitious portrait of the “Dark Knight.”
Safe for Pattinson, “The Batman” cast also includes Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka The Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton aka The Riddler, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. www.worldofreel.com/blog/2021/8/the-batman-screened-at-wb-headquarters

Very graphic, very dark, very scary. Paul Dano is f*cking crazy, so fucking scary I loved every second. Robert Pattinson’s Batman voice was perfect. I have a million things to say about Catwoman, she’s my favorite part of the movie. :There’s a scene at the end that literally had everyone SCREAMING, everyone gasped.. like it was a big NO WAY for everyone… I don’t give a damn about Batman or DC and even I clenched on to a knee and was shook. It’s the biggest mic drop.”

I'm not familiar at all with that movie news website. Either way its all good cause I am very confident in this film mainly because I believe in the director Matt Reeves and trust his vision. He is basically like the anti- JJ Abrams (ironically Reeves & JJ have been friends with each other since the age of 13 haha). Both of them are known for remaking/rebooting stuff and sequels to big franchises but unlike JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves seems to not take short cuts with his direction, doesn't get involved in any mindless pandering to the audience and also seems more mature & cares about character development in his films which I find refreshing for a director known for big summer blockbusters.

Well, they've never posted anything that's been wrong ...........one time someone else gave him the wrong name of the cinematographer of The Tragedy of Macbeth and they reprinted it without checking (he later corrected it though) but other than that mistake I'm a big fan..........he's a great source for gossip and news generally .........now does that mean what he wrote will end up as "true?" Nah........but somebody sure said it to him so the quote is legit anyway.........he's not a liar or anything like that........ I post stuff from that site all the time .......and in the last few weeks that's been on Tragedy of Macbeth, PTA's Soggy Bottom and this one ........

Spoilers here - be careful what you read - but I can't imagine all this won't leak anyway www.worldofreel.com/blog/2021/8/53oyihb4q2ocbvi5tkn25k2ft8nz87Here’s another take on Matt Reeves’ “The Batman.” I had posted one on Sunday. This latest reaction, which is making the rounds in fan group circles, has a lot more plot points discussed, so beware if you don’t want to know too much about Reeves’ movie. “I attended an early screening of the movie. it was 3 hours long. Robert Pattinson narrates the entire movie as Bruce Wayne. It’s a detective noir film and you’re really able to get into his head of Batman because of this. It’s very graphic, you can hear bones cracking during some of the fight scenes and Batman almost breaks his hand punching someone.” “Alfred is more of a father figure than past iterations. He’s not really the butler figure but an ex-serviceman who is Bruce’s godfather. They have several arguments about Bruce’s life and why he shouldn’t be Batman. Especially when The Riddler starts his serial killer spree and targets both Batman/Bruce not realizing that they are the same person.”
“The Batman suit that is seen in the trailer is not the final look. Bruce pieced it together like he did his bat mobile. It gets destroyed during a scene with The Riddler . The Riddler leaves a bomb on the mayor (think “Saw”) and requests to speak with Batman. Everyone clears the room and Bruce changes into Batman. He taunts Batman by saying if he truly pursued justice then he would support the killings. Then the bomb goes off and destroys his suit.”
“It’s a thriller/noir type of movie and The Riddler is a serial killer. He and Batman have a cat/mouse game the whole movie. Bruce has mental health issues in the movie and Pattinson gives such a good performance. It’s very plot driven. Most scenes are darkly lit because Batman only comes out at night in this movie. I don’t know if that was written into the script or something but most scenes in the movie take place in the evening. Paul Dano is amazing! One of the best comic book villains in a long time. Like [Heath Ledger] made The Joker larger than life, Paul Dano makes The Riddler his own. It’s extremely haunting and some of it feels like a horror film. You could place his Riddler in a horror movie and he would fit perfectly.”
“The Batman” was test screened at the Warner Bros studio lot on Friday. The movie had a 3-hour runtime. Of course, this could just be a very rough cut. RBatz aside, “The Batman” cast also includes Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka The Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton aka The Riddler, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin.

This is fast becoming one of my most anticipated films. I've always felt Batman deserved a Se7en-type treatment where he's actually properly investigating a case, and the noir aesthetic is perfect for it.

I love the idea of Batman narrating his thoughts thru out the film. I never even thought of that and it sounds interesting.

Another screening reaction - spoilers, people - but if you read the other ones this is nothing - just trying to cover for people who don't want to know anything ........the best thing in this review is the term "horror noir" well alright!....... This is the third and, most likely, final reaction of “The Batman” that I will be posting here. I’ve run out of people, who attended the 08.26.21 test-screening at the WB lot, who are willing to spill the beans. This latest attendee tells me he clocked the movie at 2 hours and 53 minutes in length.“Zoe Kravitz was great. I’ve never seen a Catwoman this dangerous/lethal before. Robert Pattinson doesn’t necessarily need to act that much but the good news is that he doesn’t look awkward in the batsuit. It fits him well. Like in “The Dark Knight” this was all about the villains. Paul Dano as The Riddler is frightening. He suffers from mental illness but so does Bruce Wayne/Batman. That’s the underlying theme of the movie: anxiety/depression/hysteria in the 21st century With all that said this is Matt Reeves’ movie. He’s going for a very horror-centric style. Most of the scenes are shot at night, which gives this version of Batman a very unique feel. If I had to describe what the genre is then I’d say it’s a horror-noir.” In case, you missed them, you can click on the previously posted first and second reactions of “The Batman.” As previously stated, Reeves’ movie was test screened at the Warner Bros studio lot two Fridays ago. Of course, this could have just been a very rough cut, and no other details have been leaked about the screening, but the runtime does hint at a very ambitious portrait of the “Dark Knight.” www.worldofreel.com/blog/2021/9/f9366yq7npe1xf4g20roch0jwwa1cc
