What's this? Some of the categories are going to be done off the air, during commercial break? Yep. Several categories will be announced during commercial break and will be shown to us in a montage towards the end or some shit. And apparently Kris Tapley knows that one of the categories to go will definitely be Best Cinematography You won just in time, Deaks.

John Bailey's got to be the worst president the Academy's had in a while. Best Popular Film fiasco + Removing some categories from the broadcast + This horseshit. What a douche. And to think I was excited when a cinematographer was chosen as their president... He really needs to go.

Outrageous, detestable decision but no one’s going to be watching this thing anyways.

I assume it's Julie Andrews. Yet another FU to Blunt, if you will.

Actually, on further thought it's probably not Julie Andrews, considering she allegedly passed up a role in the film so as not to take away the spotlight from Emily Blunt. If that is true then it seems super unlikely she'd take this gig -- just seems incredibly conniving, unless she got Blunt's blessing or something. But still, Blunt doesn't feel like she'd be a "surprise," unless it's the Academy making fun of themselves for not nominating her. Dunno. Not sure why I keep writing so much about something I don't care about. Must be a testament to my boredom.

Good on Lady Gaga, bad on... new president guy. He hasn't even made a "Dick Poop" fail.
I actually quite liked Cheryl Boone Isaacs. She failed to boost viewership (which counts as a loss, especially seeing as how her job is marketing), but she genuinely seemed invested in actually honoring and awarding people. The new regime just seems cynical.

Guys. We need to just not watch the Oscars in protest. I haven't watched them live the last couple of years (I only tuned in to see BP in 2016 where I was lucky to see the Beatty/Dunaway debacle), but if they're doing this in the asinine hopes of boosting ratings, make a point not to watch. Then they can oust John Bailey and replace him with someone with some goddamn sense (hi Laura Dern!).
With that said, I would be fine with Tom Hanks presenting every category. The whole show would be cut down by an hour just because he doesn't fuck around.

New rumors circulating that John Bailey is going to force an Academy shutdown until they allow him to construct a security wall around the Dolby Theatre to make sure that Emily Blunt doesn't get in. Impeach! He must be stopped!

Bring back Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Dick Poop and all. At least she had a heart for the job. John Bailey has no soul, let alone a heart.
