Jesus... half of these MI films' budget must be used on Cruise's insurance policy.

I'm 6'2 and while Tom Cruise is only 5'7 at best, he clearly has much bigger balls than me. JFC

Awful title IMO.
Wish they would give Parts 7 and 8 different titles.

I think Cruise is stopping at 8 just so that “Brian’s Brain” episode of Ricky Gervais’ podcast doesn’t come true.
’Cause holy shit, is that ever a crazy ass stunt :O

MI has become the ultimate 'Don't give a shit about the story/people - I'm just here for the action' type of franchise and this trailer seems to confirm that this is exactly the course this new one's gonna take as well. I sure hope the last stunt is real and not some sort of a CG-blend. Because if it is indeed real then...hell yeah, Mr. Cruise!

Stunning trailer. Would've preferred some breathing space in the middle.

I know this has been the running thread for over a decade now but I just do not understand how he didn’t kill himself with that motorcycle stunt. Cannot fucking wait.

RUNNING!
I am so excited to watch this old man risk his life yet again for our entertainment. God bless Tom Cruise.
Also, we've got Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, AND Hayley Atwell in this?? Are they just going to keep adding another one of my crushes with each new movie?

Definitely like the aesthetic, visuals, and action here. Like seeing Kittridge from the first film back. MI has become the ultimate 'Don't give a shit about the story/people - I'm just here for the action' type of franchise Well what separates MI from Fast and Furious or something is that they do actually put work into the stories and although Hunt is a fairly generic action hero they've often had very good villains as well. So hopefully that continues here.

I’ve watched this trailer several times over the last few days – 1. Because it kicks ass in general, and 2. Because I can’t get enough of the slowed-down version of the Mission Impossible theme that you hear from 1:19-1:35 (what I guess you’d call the theme’s “B section” played over the main part of the theme, which plays at its regular tempo). I could be completely forgetting, but I don’t recall ever hearing the theme presented quite this way before, with the last note of each descending melodic unit harmonized differently than the two preceding it. It’s a very cool sounding variation of the theme in terms of its harmonic accompaniment, and I especially like the striking shift from major to minor that happens right as the music transitions into the theme at 1:17-1:19 after a colorful chord progression starting at 0:55.
Reminds me of the way the Bond theme was stretched out and reharmonized in the Craig films, and also the new harmonization of the main Star Wars theme that appears in the trailer for Rise of Skywalker (but not the film itself). I like this trend of messing around with the harmonic accompaniment of iconic movie themes to see what new sorts of colors you can get out of it. I only hope that we hear it in the film itself and not just the trailer...

This particular leitmotif actually appeared in Fallout during the rooftop foot chase - it's in the track named "Stairs and Rooftops". Out of all the musical tracks of the film, that one stuck with me the most apart from the usual series theme rearrangement. Gotta check if that particular leitmotif also appeared in the other tracks or not.

Gotta check if that particular leitmotif also appeared in the other tracks or not. Nice find! Totally forgot about that slowed-down appearance of the theme. What’s cool though is that while the "Stairs and Rooftops" version is similar to the Dead Reckoning trailer version, the latter actually expands on the former, featuring a more diverse harmonic accompaniment supporting the theme, which also appears in its complete form in the trailer (allowing for a richer harmonic palette). In "Stairs and Rooftops," we mostly hear a fragmented form of the theme that emphasizes the middle portion of the theme. It isn’t until towards the end of the track when we finally hear a clear statement of the beginning portion of the theme, and there it’s harmonized in an even more striking way than how it appears in the trailer (around 4:47)!
