Reveals a little about Jennifer Jason Leigh, some plot and fellates the GOAT which you can actually still say on MAR - unless you say it about Bill Clinton maybe .......preposterously "The Godfather Part 2" is invoked in this interview....as if...

Great job promoting the show - they go on Fallon - the GOAT tells a story that any fan of his has heard a million times and they show a clip from season 1 Interesting, promotional idea .......still....he's alive and in good spirits and didn't fall - it's a win-win-win ......now when I was his age.......oh nevermind

Reviews have started for season 2 - basically what you'd expect - a lot of borderline thumbs up or borderline thumbs down........we'll see if it ends up in the 65% range on RT like season 1......Al is skating through again here with lots of nice words for him......by people who do not work for him like meLike this kind of wacky stuff......ok, whatever, thanks...... I can literally watch Al Pacino just reciting stories (that don’t require to make much sense), for an infinite deal of time. It’s just an absolute privilege to watch an actor of his calibre, performing his subtle best. Even though one is aware of the grey shade in his character, there is simply no stopping the brilliance of Pacino, literally none.www.leisurebyte.com/hunters-season-2-review/

Pacino was 78 when he started filming S1..... Now he's almost 83. I was a little worried about his "prequel" subplot. But whoa. I had no idea he'd be in it so much....... I haven't finished all of S2 yet....... but Pacino is delivering the goods! and he's better than in S1...... Didn't wanna bury the lede, so there you go.
Clearly this season is an upgrade... well, it's slicker, tighter. There were smarter minds in the writers room (indeed: new staff, new directors). No cheap, interruptive flashbacks of the camps.... instead it's Pacino who, if you can slightly forgive the head-scratcher experience of the first season's twist, he makes better sense now in a fascinating Mr Arkadin sort of way. I think the reviews mistake the use of him; he's a little like the grim reaper, coming into the Hunters minds when they're at their weakest. And his scenes have an otherworld touch, as they wisely and often shoot him in the shadows, in these smoky dour lounges that may as well be Hell. It almost feels like someone not realizing they're a ghost.
But we also see the way in which he operates and opens up his private evil - how he ingratiates, gets closer to his victims.... He’s graceful at pretending and ruthless (it’s not just the business success in him) and unlike S1, we see more clearly the desperation driving him. S2 just understands Pacino better, with lots of one-on-one intimate scenes and layers to play. Like when he visits someone from his past, but can't let them know… He turns inward with shame like he’s a boy again.
OKAY! S2 otherwise - better Euro-thriller feel, with set pieces (the opera!) and just a lot more group fun in a Soderbergh/Mission Impossible style, with attention to detail, like where blood drips (down), or the patron game (who aren’t nazis). Jennifer Jason Leigh is having a blast - her best perf since Hateful Eight? “I’m making CHICKEN!”
Not flawless - the Hitler business is still silly, I don’t get the Joe brainwash thing, and the FBI character is superfluous at this point. Also the bigger action scenes aren’t blocked very well.
Ep7 - for those who don’t care about the series or catching up, this is a standalone ep, with a unique single location - almost a mini movie, very Wes Anderson meets Tarantino. I think this comic-forward violent loom and identity "game" is what David Weil was after all along.

As batshit crazy as this show is, I quite enjoyed that first episode - s2, e1 I don't know when I'll get through this season but it actually made coherent sense for once - and I mean coherent for a show that says Hitler is alive and a "Hunter" has been brainwashed ffs.....I mean "coherent for the bonkers premise" I loved the whole "ghost" angle(s) and how they are all like ghosts moving through history (Meyer is a double ghost!) - that's, gulp, rather deep actually..........Pacino is predictably stellar - and I know this because a wolf can smell a wolf and I didn't smell you at all ........JJL was wunderbar........marvelous and grisly opening......... I said this before - the 1st season was an origin story for a goofy Marvel TV show without the special effects and with a serious story that was bound to go together like pizza and pork fried rice.....but now..........this 2nd edition is when it gets its comic book gravitas ........... you are either on board with it...........or you jumped off already anyway. Still expecting this to get mixed reviews on RT ...........but one day, this will be a cult show .......it's just too wacky not to be.........even if it is just 2 seasons..........Pacino exists right now in this fun netherworld of ~ 80 year old American legend that everybody loves so much they just accept Big Al walking around with his BDE swagger of ~ 60% on RT in divisive stuff like 2 seasons of Hunters, and House of Gucci ......it's wunderbar to be him these days really...........a real knife in the neck so to speak........America's Grandpa

I think Ep1-4 do a really good job evoking ghostliness, and a sort of displaced scope. Shooting around scenic Prague doesn't hurt, either. Ep5-6 are dumber but 6 has an important line from JJL that I'll put it spoilers but very much connects to the ghost thought: "What if this is our heaven, hunting them." There's also the amusing, standalone Ep7 that plays with the idea of ghosts (in an M Night meets Wes Anderson storybook way). Also gonna add I've finished S2.... I still like it better than 1 but the finale is a veryyy long ep of much cringe and brought the season down for me. Still, speaking of Marvel, I'm surprised fans aren't more effusive of S2.... according to this thread, MAR mostly digs this show! S2 specifically hits (steals) a lot of Dark Knight notes as well. Nolan fans get in here. Actually....... I shouldn't even mention The Godfather 2 in the same breath, but clearly it was also an inspiration for this season.
