I would do something to make sure there weren't all these awards It is hard to imagine what would that be, make it that you cannot won an Oscar if you have won an authorize price, to make sure people officially refuse any other awards ? Even then, why would those other award care ? Make presure on IMDB, google and other to not talk about the other award and remove them from those type of page ? Sound a bit impossible in a free world, what would have done a governor in charge of AMPAS to close the Italian Online Movie Awards for example ? Not sure it is possible legally. I perfectly know it, but I was answering to the retoric quetion to the above poster about campaigning.

Separate Directors by gender too but keep the numbers unfixed like Hair & makeup, original song etc usually are.
Give us a special acting category for: Motion capture/ voice acting performances.
Best choreography (stunt, dance, etc)
Best casting director (that's an industry professional too, so why not. It's not like they have a best ensemble award to cause overlap).

My changes would be:
All categories go to 5 nominees, except for Best Picture.
Add Stunt Coordination
In the Best Picture category, move toward an ACTUAL top 10. Each voter submits their top 10 list of the year. #1 votes gets 10 points. #2 votes gets 9 points, and so forth. The top 10 films with the most points gets in. However if one film gets the top 5 most #1 votes, but fails to get the top 10 most points, they still get nominated for Best Picture. So for example, lets just for argument sake the top 10 films with the most points are 1917, Parasite, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Jojo Rabbit, The Irishman, Little Women, Marriage Story, Ford v. Ferrari, Knives Out and Judy. However, Joker gets the 5th highest #1 vote count. Joker would replace Judy for the 10th Best Picture spot.

Cut Best Picture down to 5. It's watered down now, and feels less prestigious than the other main categories because it's less of a culling.
Add a Breakthrough Performance category, but nobody wins. It's just 3 people nominated and all 3 get to go onstage during the ceremony.
Vote totals are released after 15 years.

The first one would be redundant unless it has the stigma of the DGA first time director award
