And Trump: "It had little to do with our gun laws."
That stubbornness to stay on such an idiotic track just to not tick off the supporters of the gun laws and lobby simply shows the whole abyss of humanity.

I rarely comment on Trump because he's the lowest of low hanging fruit... and I've hated him since even before he was a TV show host... but seriously, fuck Trump. "Should have has armed guards"??? Go eat a giant bag of dicks.

My condolences to the families involved. I hope the baby and other children weren't harmed at least.

Why is it that left wing people are quick to blame Trump's dumb cunt supporters for their actions but when a gun is involved they never talk about the perpetrator except if it's a Muslim or some other so called oppressed minority.

Horrible When will this stop? Never. Humans have been slaughtering each other since before civilization. Do you think that ends if guns go away?

Him saying stupid shit is irrelevant and shows you and people like you whose priorities are terrible.

The entire tragedy is horrible. The entire reaction politicizing it on both sides is almost unspeakably gross.
In Dario Argento's (great) film Tenebrae - a film that explicitly asks the audience "how much do you blame me (the artist) for the actions of others? - the lead character memorably asks a detective “If someone is killed with a Smith & Wesson revolver, do you go and interview the president of Smith & Wesson?”
That is a 1982 film, and the discourse hasn't moved any further and indeed can not really ever. It's a mental health issue, a gun control issue, a criminal act issue. The answer is.......there is no answer. Man's capacity for evil is fathomless.

It's incredible (in the worst way possible) that at this point, due to the frequency, there's not even that much discussion around it on social media anymore.

I take public transportation for work and everyday I encounter someone who is mentally off and I can't believe they are allowed to own a gun. Trump and the rest live in an 1% bubble.

This should not be commonplace. But do wake me when this entire damned administration realizes that.

This has nothing to do with being "left wing" or "right wing" or in between. It's just common sense that says with stricter gun laws far less of those incidents would happen. You also just have to look at the rate of those incidents compared to some countries with similar average life standard in Europe or Asia and you will see how much more violence happens in the United States. It's also just common sense that some people are quickly ready to use violence on others and martial speeches like Trump's just spur them on. So he definitely is not without fault on the brutal climate in his country. I don't think this is an achievement a president or a politican should be proud of.

Almost all Swiss adult males have a gun in their house because they have to practice shooting every year for the army. Almost no accidents happened. On the other side, in the last years I've been checking the emergency exit or safe places every time I get in a store / theater / street. Because Europe has been under the attack of terrorists carrying homemade bombs, owning weapons illegally, and driving trucks or something over the crowd in the streets. I seriously doubt that not letting Swiss men own a gun would make me feel safer.

And I feel pretty safe that way. Make it easier for people to have guns just increases the probability that some violent folks own guns. And therefore logically the probability of events such as this one increases as well.

jimmaloneSee, I don't like guns. I don't think I'll ever allow one in my house. But I think banning guns in the US will mean that only criminals and terrorists will own them. I'm totally ok for a mental health evaluation and criminal records check for people who want to buy weapons though.

Tell that to left wingers and right wingers in America. 2. Illinois, New York, California all have extremely strict gun laws and have more gun violence than other parts of the country where it doesn't. Brazil have extremely strict gun laws and more people are killed per capita than America. Switzerland allows its population to own guns and they have almost zero problems with it. Any idiot with common sense can see it's not a gun problem but a crime problem. 3. Gun violence existed long before Trump came to office so trying to blame him for this is cheap.

I don't have a problem with guns, per se. I have a problem with the types of guns. Nobody uses an assault rifle for hunting or self defense, which is what most of the gun folks are clamoring about needing them for.

They have them as a measure of last resort against a tyrannical power that rises against them. Assault rifles are just guns that are bigger and with better precision.

That's the constitution's view, yeah. Ask normal people why they have guns... they won't say that.

Kinda the point of why America isn't a democracy. Leave these decisions in the hand of the mob and they'll turn tyrannical themselves.

This is absolutely heartbreaking To single anyone out for violence based on their religious beliefs, non-belief, ethnicity or sexual orientation is beyond my ability to comprehend.
