He looks pretty spot on. I see that some of you are divided on him in general as an actor but I'm looking forward to his portrayal.

Yeah, he looks good, I just hope the movie is good, after a promising start with Kingsman 1, the quality of the films has gone downhill.

I actually think he's a pretty good actor,he went to RADA afterall.He just hasn't yet made the kind of films to show his range.

His take on Rocketman is okay but doesn't really sound like Elton. He did a much better job with I'm Still Standing. Looks good though.

Okay, so that trailer got me checking out old Elton videos so I decided to listen to Tiny Dancer, Rocketman and I'm Still Standing. Okay, so ummm I posted link to I'm Still Standing and at the 20 second mark, is that the judge, Bruno from Dancing With the Stars????? He's also at the 53 sec mark.

Looks like him, doesn't sound like him much - another Rock and Roll film that may as well be about a really really successful plumber or baker it appears - the Elton John story is about success - period and in terms of his musical peers in the 70s there are many better more interesting stories to tell than his (and Mercury's actually) - not that he doesn't deserve a movie - sure make it about them all - but what can you say about it and him and his time?
I'm saying not much - it's the equivalent of virtue signaling but the virtue is your musical taste here "Oh, I love his music and he was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge in the 70s (!) so I love that they did his story!" even though you didn't need a film to tell that story........

C'mon, it looks so much better than BR. Edgerton seems to be doing more than just wearing make-up, his singing is actually good and the visuals of the movie seem very good and dream-like. It reminds me more of Across The Universe, actually.
