She doesn't have 5 better than this one I can tell you that. One of the great female debuts in modern cinema..........I guess not enough people know it yet. They will. In which order should you watch the film and the documentary? Is it essential to watch both?

She doesn't have 5 better than this one I can tell you that. One of the great female debuts in modern cinema..........I guess not enough people know it yet. They will. In which order should you watch the film and the documentary? Is it essential to watch both?Well, it is NOT essential to watch both imo but it helps to eventually see both because the production is so hard to fully grasp - it is in effect a staged reading with no consistent connecting thread across the cast in how they play it, or in staging......... or in wardrobe even - Pacino is in "Pacino-clothes". The documentary is pretty funny - a lesser Looking For Richard - and covers a lot of fascinating ground about Wilde and the play (I'm sure Morrissey was appalled when Al acts AS Wilde, wtf - but I digress).....and shows you a lot about the artists involved.......BUT it has a lot of the play in it too, so if you watch them both back to back it's almost like a rewatch for some of it. In the film, Chastain is remarkable if you can contextualize her in this role (which is where the doc helps a lot) and .........I can't stress this enough .........remarkably odd and weird for a debut performance.......I mean she out nutjobs Al, in her first role........which is really saying something

Finally got around to watching George & Tammy, where she’s very good, and I think I’d put it just outside her top 5.
1. Salomé 2. Miss Julie 3. The Eyes of Tammy Faye 4. Jolene 5. Miss Sloane
