that video totally eliminated all my concerns about the first person POV. I'm also excited that gameplay-wise and in terms of story/quest progression, it looks very similar to Witcher 3 down to the yellow branching dialogue, and that's what excites me more than the FPS and bioware mechanics showcased. I love the idea of being able to explore this huge world and make decisions that ripple throughout the story in unpredictable ways. This is my kind of game.
Please take my money, CDPR.

Ugh, I didn't know this was a first person perspective game. Pass.

welp, the feedback has been really disappointing so far and not just because of the bugs. Sounds like this thing needed another year at least. Cut content, really short main story (do they not understand that the reason side quests are fun is that you always have the main story to get back to?), lifepath doesn't impact quest design nearly as much as CDPR was saying it would, can't change your character's appearance after you start, can't customize car or apartment, combat looks really bullet-spongey, NPCs don't react to you (even Witcher 3 had that). Can some of this be fixed in patches... Maybe?? But some of it is structural (weak lifepath system, short main quest). And graphically, well I knew I wouldn't be playing this until at least a year post-launch but it looks like this thing is locked behind an intense hardware wall. Looks abysmal on Xbox One and PS4 and apparently still has trouble on new gen. Don't know how much that can be patched since this looks like such a graphical hog. So honestly PC or bust, and a reaaaaly nice PC at that... I'm sure I'm still gonna play it but I'm no longer expecting something on the level of Witcher 3.

So glad I fell out of gaming before it got to the point where we could expect every AAA title to require at least two months of patches just to be decently playable.

I’ve played it for around 3 hours so far on my Xbox One and found the bugs/glitches to not be overly bad. The textures need a lot of work though. Graphics aren’t bad, just leave a lot to be desired. Frame rate is a bit of a disaster too. I’ll wait until all that gets cleaned up until I play it again (or when I get a Series X, whichever comes first). I’ve heard pretty decent things about how it runs on the Series X. There’s still issues though, obviously.
While saying that, I can tell that this game is going to be a masterpiece. I know I’ve only played it for a few hours, but god damn. The city gives me such Blade Runner/Dredd vibes. Just gritty as fuck. The amount of things you can do is so overwhelming, in a good way. I already drifted off and did a couple of side quests rather than the main storyline. The amount of hours people will be able to spend doing shit will be insane. Like what pretty much all of the reviews have said, the only thing stopping this from meeting all of the hype are the bugs and graphical issues atm.
CD Projekt Red should’ve delayed this for longer without a doubt. There’s no excuse to release a game in this kind of state. At least extend the current gen consoles release date or something. The game has gotten pushed back so many times, so why not push it back for another 3 months or so.

I've put in about 3 hours so far (on PS4). Maybe I've just been lucky with my experience, or more likely people are just exaggerating, but it's far from unplayable to me. That said, the bugs are still annoying and I'd rather wait until it's in a better state before fully committing to it. It's currently downloading the 1.04 update from today that apparently fixes a lot of the visual bugs, so I'm curious to see how much that does, but at this rate I don't have much faith that significant improvements will be made for another few weeks. Immensely disappointing that CDPR decided to rush this out this year and not just hold off until it was truly finished, especially considering their mantra from that 2013 teaser was "Coming when it's ready" ... if only they coulda stuck to that. The months of crunch it reportedly took are bad enough, the fact that it didn't even lead to a finished product and amounted to what it is a pretty disastrous launch just makes it reflect even more poorly on them.
