You have a lot to choose from here, but I'll give a mention to a couple of underrated ones, "The Memory Remains" and their cover of "Whiskey in the Jar".

It’s between Enter Sandman, One, Master of Puppets and Fade to Black.

Husband says Nothing else matters and Battery. He hasn't gone to one of their concerts after the 90s though.

My top 10:
1. Master of Puppets – their most perfect combination of propulsive riffing (one of the most fun riffs to play in general), sound/production, powerhouse vocals (really wish Hetfield still sang like this), and a lyrical bridge that contrasts with the energy of the rest of the song using Baroque-sounding guitar lines. Over 8 minutes long but still feels tight as hell. Insane that this was written by dudes in their early 20s.
2. One 3. Fade to Black 4. Blackened 5. Orion 6. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 7. Battery 8. Creeping Death 9. For Whom the Bell Tolls 10. The Call of Ktulu
