I've been kinda following this "The Meg" project for quite some time now, back from the early days when Jan De Bont was supposed to direct it, and then Eli Roth. Although it lost its R rating aspirations in the process and now looks like a pretty generic creature flick, I'm still kinda happy for this damn thing. Means all the production trouble wasn't in vain.
Let me join all the people in here offering congratulations to a gigantic piece of shit shark movie that is corporately assembled, pandering, and infinitely bland! Cheers to the men in suits foisting garbage on us of a different color for the millions that may expand your mansions!
You're right. I'll be more adult and cheer on horrible movies that make money. Sticking it to the snobs by championing awful garbage!
Why would you go and see a movie you were clearly going to hate to start with...I just don't get that at all.
Have you even seen it?
I went in hoping to like it because shark movies absolutely rule (eg. The Shallows and 47 Meters Down). There is no way you would be defending this shit if you'd seen it. It isn't as though it's some secretly great schlocky film, it's horrendously made and bland as humanly possible.
