I'm starting to realise that Ryan Gosling made it into this list before Robert Mitchum, Kirk Douglas, Christopher Plummer, James Earl Jones, Christopher Walken etc..... Was La La Land really that good, y'all?

Realizing.... the only actors inside the Top 20 actively working are Denzel, Joaquin, De Niro, and Pacino.... we don't know if DDL Nicholson or Hoffman will act again... in Hoffman's case Meyerowitz would be a strong finish - I mean the last shot of the film is a box of his art work and that line "This is him." What more could an Artist want !!

I said it basically in other threads but the top 6 DeNiro performances (Mean Streets, GF II, Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, King of Comedy) can stand with anyone's - and that's 6 it's not like 1 or 2.........and he's got lot of other great stuff.
Oh and he changed acting forever by the way he sculpted his body and he has the most successful partnership with an American director ever.
That's all...........no big deal.

You said he should win yet I was the only one to vote him #1? Sad! I did not vote, Mr. Viced Bastard. Neither did Bob-Boss guy (would have been another #1).

I love DDL and he is in my top 10 but 3 is pretty crazy unless you think film history is like 2002 onward.......kidding kidding.
He belongs on this list and he is the tradition to me of Oliver, Finney, Kingsley .........for all my carping about things he didn't do, what he DID do is pretty astonishing

Brando was my number 1 and I mean what can you say his very name is a myth, his very best work not only holds up, it leaves you breathless all these years later.
