Seeing some placements, my only hope is Johnny_Hellzapoppin made mistakes in counting the points.

#37: Peter Sellers Points: 92 Last Poll: #18 “Some forms of reality are so horrible we refuse to face them, unless we are trapped into it by comedy. To label any subject unsuitable for comedy is to admit defeat.” I put Sellers really high on my list. There's never been anybody like him and there likely won't ever be. I've been rooting thru a lot of his work the last year and it's surprising how many varied and very good perfs he has.... most of what I'd put in his Top 10 are rather unknown. It'd be interesting if you showed somebody, for example, I'm All Right Jack, Never Let Go, Only Two Can Play, World of Henry Orient, and Hoffman.... and then you showed them his best work and his looser more overtly comedic work.

I've only seen Depardieu in a couple things, but he's amazing in Danton. Great movie and very underseen.

Starting off poorly with the likes of Cagney, Duvall, Mason and Guinness being so low.

#20 (Tied): Tom Hanks Points: 146 No. of Ballots: 10, #2 on 1 Ballot Last Poll: N/A “Anytime you go off to do something new, you're involved in a reinvention, and any actor who says otherwise is just trying to lower expectations.” #20 (Tied): George C. And I think when people used to hang around and pat each other on the back over a drink and dinner it was wonderful. But when it became an international hoopla, where careers lived and died on whether or not you did or didn't get an Oscar, then it got out of hand.”

Depardieu! It's kind of absurd / unheard of...... from '74-'91 (maybe to '96, still a lot I haven't seen) practically every year he has a performance that's very good or great or better! Or otherwise he's in a quality movie worth seeing. It's amazing and I'll always rank him crazy high on my lists. He's also probably the first foreign actor that I really got into (in my early teens?) in terms of flopping around their filmography trying to watch as much as possible. Love that big wino bastard.

Burton, give me a break, for every great performance like The Spy Who Came in From the Cold, he has at least two Exorcist 2's
