Hoping to find some gems in here. Love different interpretations and takes on songs.

These are a few I can't get enough of at the moment. For After the Gold Rush you could pick just about any version, the ones by Prelude, and Dolly, Emmylou, and Linda are also amazing.

Everybody knows about this one, since it was on the radio so much in the early 2000s, but I do like it:
The original was by Talk Talk in the 1980s.

I'm gonna tell a story of a great song by going backwards in time, stop if you get bored. George Winston heard a guitar piece, tried to play it on his guitar and could not, so he played it on the piano instead: Ocean Waves (1982) The guitar piece George Winston heard: Bola Sete - Ocean Waves (1972) Bola Sete had adapted Ocean Waves for acoustic guitar this song by Dorival Caymmi: O Mar (1959) O Mar (1954) The original 1940 recording with orchestra: O Mar (1940) Skip ahead to 1967, and a song written by John Hartford that bears a resemblance to the Samba section of "O Mar": Gentle On My Mind (1967) As played by George Winston on the piano in 1982, a Brazilian song written in 1938 had evolved to sounding like Americana. You have been to O Mar school!

This is nice, probably better than the original. Fuck you, Oasis.

Yeah, I think this is the song that made him famous here... Or that brought him to my attention at least.
