I think it's a fair removal, though it is perhaps a bit of a shame that there is not best song/score arrangement, which is often taken for granted.

Got the original songs it's supposedly based off of so lazy people can hear what the fuss is about? As for my thoughts on the awards: No Madoka anywhere. No Wind Rises anywhere. No Kaguya anywhere. No Affleck, Rooney, Foster, ensemble, directing or picture for Saints. No Teller. Edit: And no Snowman in original song. This year had some great stuff. A shame that nobody likes any of it.

I'm genuinely shocked at Ida not being nominated for Best Cinematography. Prisoners, Her and Gravity deserve to be there; still, their cinematography isn't better than Ida's. You guys really fucked it up this time.
August: Osage County got in for Best Emsemble, but none of its cast members made it into the acting categories... Odd, to say the least. I'm ok with Streep being snubbed, but Roberts and Martindale should have gotten in.
On the other hand, I'm super pleased with all the nominations for Her, Blue Jasmine, Dallas Buyers Club and Short Term 12. All got in in the right categories.

Ah. Yeah, that's a bit of a point. Um. I'd be okay with removing it, honestly. It's more of an adaptation than an original song, so that's a bit fuzzy. FYC: DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN, ATLAS

Best Achievement in Cinematography
And the nominees are... 4/5 and the only one I didn’t have was Her which is #6 for me so I’m pretty thrilled with these

Ok, so "Please Mr. Kennedy" has been replaced with the next in line, which was "Happy" from Despicable Me 2.

Best Achievement in Cinematography
And the nominees are... No NEBRASKA and PRISONER???? WHAT THE HELL!!! what movie with the cars? The 5th one is Prisoners. I was hoping people would recognize it, but maybe I should have chosen a different shot. I just love that scene so much thought.

I must say, that aside from a few of the more obvious nominations I expected and the pleasant inclusion of Greta Gerwig in Actress, I'm really not pleased with the 'major categories' portion of this year. I shrugged in disappointment at most of it. Que sera sera I guess.

Also, Dern not being in Lead Actor is possibly the worst thing about the 5 years of these so far.

these lineups are all kinds of messy. - ScarJo's voice gets a nomination...yeah, I'll never understand this. - No Ida, not even for cinematography - No Dern - No Great Beauty - No Only Lovers Left Alive (was it not eligible??) - Barely any Spring Breakers - Christian Bale's ratchetty ass hairpiece and Katniss's basic eyeliner for makeup over Evil Dead, Great Gatsby, and Rush - Freaking Snwpiercer for VFX (this thing has no business being in most of these categories but VFX is the most egregious) - Jake G snubbed for his best performance to date - No Princess Kaguya for score ok, now the things I liked: - Short Term 12 overperforming - y'all remembered Philomena, Spectacular Now, and Frances Ha in the right categories - supporting actor lineup is 10/10 - lead actress is perfect sans Bullock - sound categories are close to perfect - Inside Llewyn Davis representing

Short Term 12 gets too many nods! Lakeheit Stanfield doesn't deserve it tbh, I don't remember anything from him in the movie. I kind of agree; Short Term 12 is my favorite of the BP nods (I'm missing Before Midnight), but it's not really all that good. And certainly, it doesn't deserve nods for Stanfield or Dever.

Not at all pleased with the nominations. How did Christian Bale missed? I understand the hatred for American Hustle on this baord but he was best of the cast and easily better than some of the nominees.
Also Grandmaster was robbed of a cinematography nom.

missed this last night. commenting as i go through Score lineup is great 4/5 Haven't seen All is Lost or Lone Survivor, but great sound lineup otherwise phew, Gravity made the visual effect lineup also Snowpiercer's nomination here is absolutely abysmal. Costume and Mkeup lineups are great even if I didn't think to cinsider Hunger Games it was pretty solid in that regard great cinematography lineup even if I had The Place Beyond the Pines ahead of Gravitydon't really get the love for Nebraska or Philomena so their screenplay nods are lost on me I'm ok w/ the ensemble lineup other than August, I thought we hated that on here and I'm thoroughly surprised to see Short Term 12 I just looked at that as the Brie show. meh, supporting actress lineup, I had 3 in there Lupita, Lea, and Sally. Also here is more proof it wasn't the Brie show hell yeas on Gosling! not the biggest on Fassbender in 12yas but yet again I'm surprised to see for Short Term 12 acting love, now I'm predictng it in BP, a screenplay and what surely will be 3 acting nods. It feels like I'm the only one who sees the brilliance of Ronan in Byzantium, but oh well pretty solid lineup replace Ejiofor w/ Domhnall Gleeson and that's my lineup although Ejiofor if probably 8 or 9, so this is an amazing lineup. again replace McQueen with another About Time snub, Richard Curtis and this is my lineup. Pretty Great BP lineup Before Midnight - Nice, my #6 Gravity - missed my lineup, but is in the 15 range Her - my #7 Inside Llewyn Davis - my #4 The Place Beyond the Pines - fantastic, my #2 & and my director winner Short Term 12 - I like this, but I'm genuinely surprised by the adoration of this, around my 20ish area The Wolf of Wall Street - my #3, love it no love for About Time is upsetting but overall decent nominees, Thanks Pendragon!!
