Not a bad lineup. Glad to see The World's End made it.

Not bad so far, though the sound categories are always so predictable. Evil Dead definitely deserved a spot there (considering Berberian Sound Studio will be in 2012, and probably snubbed there too sadly).
Anyway, totally forgot about The Wolverine for Choreography, would have had that as my #2 probably behind The World's End (which I'm glad made it). Edgar Wright always has fantastic choreography in his films, whether his fight sequences or just simple humorous stuff like when the gang goes chugging beer from place to place trying to seem "normal".
Also pretty sure Snowpiercer was 2014 so it's weird seeing it show up here. Maybe I got my years wrong on that.

That makeup lineup is a disappointment, to say the least. Love the Dallas Buyers Club one, though, and will forever defend its win as inspired.

Damn. Glad Smaug made the Make-Up line-up, but again no Evil Dead? One of the best of the decade IMO.

Glad to see Hustle there, as it deserved that much. Surprised and pleased for Hunger Games. I sorta forgot Buyers Club here, so a nice nomination. Evil Dead was screwed here. As a film it's a real mixed bag, but the makeup was dynamite.

As a film it's a real mixed bag, but the makeup was dynamite. As the original trilogy is my favorite trilogy behind the Before series, I was amazed that I enjoyed the remake/reboot almost as much as the first film in the franchise (possibly even a little bit more). Jane Levy is insanely good, but how it upped the ante on the make-up and visual effects this time around was a hell of a lot of fun and they went all out. Agree strongly that it got screwed here, the one category I thought even haters of the film could agree on.

I'm on my laptop since my power went out so I'm not able to see my personal line-ups. Though I thought Snowpiercer was a U.S. production just made by a South Korean filmmaker. Guess I didn't look into it too hard.

Stoker and Gangster Squad were robbed, but this is a solid line-up. Glad Her and Gatsby made it. Hopefully that, Song, and Production Design are the only nominations for Gatsby because everything else is pretty god-awful.

This is probably the one category I don't mind American Hustle in, but still: it's the principle of the thing.

Yassss Her! Deserves to win by ten miles. Not a bad line-up, though I guess people forgot Oz: The Great and Powerful came out in 2013 too eh? Also no Smaug is sad too. Don't get how Gravity got in here at all, though... It's mostly VFX is it not?

Don't get how Gravity got in here at all, though... It's mostly VFX is it not? VFX or not, it's still production design. Someone had to design the look of the various vessels. Just because it might not be physically there doesn't mean work didn't go into designing the aesthetic. This is why animated films never get their proper due: the mentality that a set has to be physically there in order to count. I hate Avatar's aesthetic, but I'm not gonna deny that they didn't put a lot of effort into making it look good, so while I consider its win one of the worst, it's not because there aren't many physical sets.

Spirited Away would be a contender for my all-time win in Production Design.
