Handful of bizarre winners so far: Dunkirk in Sound *Mixing*? Thelma over A Fantastic Woman and The Square? Also a bit puzzled by Stuhlbarg's win, though I do love the guy.
Still some strong choices though, albeit predictable. All of the Phantom Thread and Blade Runner love is well, well deserved. Could dial it back a bit on Three Billboards and Call Me By Your Name, but I know I'm in the minority when it comes to that pair.

Harry Dean Stanton died for our sins, but I can live with this win. He was soooo close for so long before DDL pulled ahead. Ended up in third place behind... Robert Pattinson.

Soundtrack - Good Performer - Stuhlbarg is fine, Kidman was better Debut - Nah, Get Out is handily the worst of the nominees Animated - Didn't vote Documentary - Didn't vote Foreign Language Film - Didn't vote, but was pulling for On Body and SoulOriginal Song - Not my choice, but it's cool. Any win for CMBYN is a victory Sound editing/mixing - Sound editing, yes, sound mixing, nah. The mixing is usually spotty in Nolan's films and this wasn't an exception Choreography - great pick VFX - uh-huh, uh-huh. moving right along Makeup - Niiice. The creature was clearly created with makeup effects, I really don't know why SoW got more traction for VFX than makeup. Costume - yeah no one can compete with the House of Woodcock Production Design - great job, guys. we fixed the Academy's mistake Cinematography - yup Film editing - Noooooooooooo this is way worse than the sound mixing win. Dunkirk's gimmicky editing sums up everything that's wrong Nolan's approach to this material. Baby Driver was robbed Adapted Screenplay - FUUUUCK YES!! CMBYN's screenplay was absolutely beautiful, from the story to the naturalistic dialogue. I can't imagine a better adaptation of Aciman's novel. Original screenplay - this is when I realized we were in for a Phantom Thread sweep PTA's writing is very accomplished generally, but he reached new levels with PT. Ensemble Cast - I voted for Death of Stalin but Three Billboards was definitely the next best thing, and the obvious choice here Supporting actress - the old so-and-so rises! Supporting actor - Predictable, but fine. Hammer and Keoghan didn't have a chance in hell Best actress - Suuuuuch an obvious pick Best actor - Timmy was robbed, but considering he wasn't close I'm happy DDL pulled it out. We don't need a Pattinson win, k thanks. Director - Sweep continues Picture - annnnnnd that's a wrap. My work is done here. Favorite win: Call My By Your Name for screenplay, because it was one of the best things about that masterpiece of a film and yet was still an underdog in that category. Honorable mention for the aforementioned Phantom Thread. PTA will not be stopped Least favorite win: Dunkirk for editing, but anything would have been better than I, Tonya so I'm still finding that silver lining Not much to be mad about tonight. Great job, y'all. WE FUCKING DID IT. Most of the right things won for a change thanks again to Viced for the horrid presentation

Thelma as Best Foreign Film is such a bizarre win... Loveless or The Square should have won. McDonagh was robbed of Best Original Screenplay. And those acting winners! First time the four who received my vote ended up winning.

BEST SOUNDTRACK - Great win
PERFORMER OF THE YEAR - Great win cause he deserved it and he's not Chalamet
BEST DEBUT FEATURE - It was never really in doubt was it...
BEST ANIMATED FILM - Still haven't see a one of these, so have no opinion
BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM - Haven't seen the winner
Best Foreign Language Film - Still haven't see a one of these, so have no opinion
BEST ORIGINAL SONG - Horrible winner
BEST SOUND EDITING / MIXING - The double was never really in doubt was it...
BEST CHOREOGRAPHY - Best of a not great bunch overall, so a good win
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS - I don't recall what I have my vote to in the end, I reckon it was probably this, but its a great winner either way
BEST MAKEUP AND HAIR-STYLING - I would have preferred I, Tonya but this is a solid choice
BEST COSTUME DESIGN - Obviously
BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN - This was my second choice, so still a great win
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY - Obviously
BEST FILM EDITING - This was my second choice, so still a great win
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY - Meh...
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY - Just rewatched this last week, and this is a nice surprise and thoroughly deserved too. I though Get Out would win, and it would have been a good win, but not as good as this
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS - The best winner so far.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR - Fine winner, even if he's not my choice from the nominees. Sill, considering he will possibly miss totally deserved nominations in the 2013 & 2012 editions, I'm happy he has this win.
BEST ACTRESS - Obviously
BEST ACTOR - Obviously
BEST DIRECTOR - Obviously
BEST PICTURE - Obviously I have to say, I love the results here overall. I don't think I've given that much head in any other year so far.
Phantom Thread, my favourite of the year sweeps, and most of the other winners were my picks or at least made my nominees ballot. The only grumble I have is that horrible song winner, but then the song category is something I typically couldn't give a shit about anyway.

Those acting winners are really disappointing and not even close to the best IMO, but I'm happy with the rest (especially the BR 2049 love, and glad it was one vote away from Screenplay). Regardless, thanks for the hard work Viced.
