Happy for all the winners except for the Grand Budapest Hotel's score.

Best Achievement by an Actor in a Supporting Role
Completely unsurprising and not at all unworthy winner, even if he was better in Oz doing a similar enough thing. The best of the nominees along with Ruffalo who I voted for.
Best Achievement in Cinematography
As the weakest of the nominees, I would have to call this a lame ass winner.
Best Achievement in Makeup and Hair-styling
Definitely the right winner here.
Best Achievement in Stunt, Fight or Dance Choreography
So disappointed.
Best Achievement in Visual Effects
Should have been Apes, but I can more than live with Interstellar in this area.
Best Original Song
I guess it's a surprise that it was a tie....
Best Achievement in Composing an Original Score
Definitely the right winner here. Best Achievement in Sound Mixing
I mean, what else was it going to be.
Best Achievement in Sound Editing
I guess of the nominees this was the right choice.
Best Achievement by an Actress in a Supporting Role
Best Achievement in Production Design I mean, what else was it going to be.
Best Achievement in Costume Design
So I voted for Into the Woods here, but Budapest was my second choice, so no complaints.
Best Achievement in Film Editing
I'm rather pleasantly surprised here, as I voted for this as my win from the nominees.
Best Ensemble Cast
It was a solid cast for sure, but I don't love this win.
Best Achievement in Writing an Adapted Screenplay
In the absence of the Arquette win, this will be known as the worst of the bunch.
Best Achievement in Writing an Original Screenplay
Another 'fine I guess' Birdman win. It's one of those films that I don't dislike in any regard, but I don't love in any regard either. I'm just sort of indifferent to its wins so far, and any more that will happen.
Best Achievement in Directing
See above.
Best Achievement by an Actress in a Lead Role
Best Achievement by an Actor in Lead Role
So he's only be my 5th choice of the nominees, but I still think he's fantastic and don't begrudge him the win. What a lineup of performances. Pike though, seriously.
Best Motion Picture of the Year
Again, I'm mostly indifferent to this win. I expected it, and I should just be pleased that Gone Girl or Boyhood didn't win.

Really shocked that people here aren't too big on Whiplash which I think when we did this before almost easily swept the competition. Would be curious to see where it ranked in comparison. Either way, Birdman isn't a bad choice as it's grown on me quite a bit since 2014, but Whiplash is still perfect in my eyes.
Also really sad Mica Levi didn't win for Under the Skin. Probably the best score of the decade honestly.

This is probably true (at least for this forum), though I think the former is ten times the movie of the second. And I'm still a fan of La La Land, too.

I think it has less to do with Whiplash's legacy and more that this board just still really loves Birdman.

I'm generally pleased with the winners. Even though I HATE The Grand Budapest Hotel, its brilliance in a lot of technical aspects is undeniable. The two Gone Girl wins made my day. Birdman wasn't my choice for Best Picture, but I still love it, so I'm fine with it winning.
I'll echo the love for the score of Under the Skin. Budapest is one of the best Desplat scores, but Mica Levi should have won.
