It finally begins this weekend, with press conferences from the major system developers and third party publishers running through the next few days. What are you guys expecting/hoping to see.
TLOU2, that’s all I want.

Cyberpunk 2077! I’m most anticipated for that.

This Bethesda conference is BORING. They need to pull something exciting out like an ES 6, because they’re all chat, and too little action.

This Bethesda conference is BORING. They need to pull something exciting out like an ES 6, because they’re all chat, and too little action. And somehow, they made TES6 announcement seem inconsequential. I’m glad to know it’s happening, but titles without real substance is only one step above “Yeah, uh, we’re working on it.” But Fallout 76 looks sweet, and Todd Howard is such a chill dude.

catching up on the announcements. Watching the Bethesda conference right now - Elder Scrolls Blade looks soooooooo....coooool - Fallout 76 looks interesting but I'm not much of a social gamer. Just sit me down in front of a big, richly-textured open world and let me explore by myself. Also doubt that there will be any mods for the game, which is hugely disappointing because if the settlement building dynamics will be anything like they were in vanilla F4, it's going to be trash - Glad ES IV got a five-second teaser. That's exciting. Starfield too. So much hype. so I'll probably catch up on everything else in a couple days. Not in a big hurry. Apparently there's some more Cyberpunk 2077 deets and that's all I care about. The Witcher 3 is the best game I've ever played so my hopes are ridiculously high.

ok, so i didn't love that cyberpunk trailer. The tonal inconsistency in the trailer threw me a bit, the main character/voice acting doesn't seem that distinctive or interesting, and I'm really really reallllyy not digging the cartoony Fortnite animation aesthetic. It's still early days and there's still no game-play footage so I'm staying optimistic, but I will say this world trailer (it really isn't a story trailer why would they call it that?) doesn't increase my interest or excitement.

Out of what was shown, I'm dying to play Beyond Good & Evil 2, Shadows Die Twice, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield V, and Kingdom Hearts 3.
For Sony's conference, I'm obviously excited about The Last of Us and Death Stranding, but my most antecipated is probably Ghosts of Tsushima. The setting is amazing and I love everything I've read about it so far. This seems to be right up my alley.

Also that Halo 6 teaser! Bringing back the classic art style of the first trilogy and that amazing soundtrack. If 343 has listened to the people, which so far it looks like they have, this game will be great and put Halo back on the right track.

NINTENDO WINS! Just for what they announced for Super Smash Bros Ultimate! Literally *every single character* that has ever been in a Smash Bros game, you name them (Snake, Cloud, Sonic, etc.), they are ALL back in this game. Even Pichu, and Pichu was the worst thing ever. It’s great! Not only that, but Daisy and the Inklings from Splatoon are joining in, and at long last Ridley from Metroid is playable.
It comes out on December 7th. If I didn’t already have a Switch, I would have bought one just for this!

- Glad ES IV got a five-second teaser. That's exciting. Starfield too. So much hype. It reminds me so much of last year, when Nintendo showed off a logo for Metroid Prime 4, and everybody went nuts for it. But for what? I think showing a logo is only one step above a “Hey, man, we got a game we’re working on” (which Nintendo also did last year about a core Pokemon title). I mean, it’s cool that it’s happening, but why even bother if you have nothing to show for it. If gameplay is meat and potatoes, a trailer is the soup or veggies, a logo isn’t even an appetizer. It’s parsley. You can eat it, but it’s not filling, and it has no flavor at all.

I love that they held-off the Ridley reveal until the near end of the conference (which kinda went on a little too long honestly). It was great!

noooooo why does cyberpunk have to be first person? Am I the only one that absolutely hates first person? It's essential for shooting but every other time it sucks and makes the world/atmosphere feel smaller and less accessible. I loved how you could toggle between 3rd/1st person in Fallout 4, which would have been preferable in a game like this with focuses on exploration but also presumably with FPS mechanics. I don't know why CDPR couldn't do that for Cyberpunk, because 3rd person is much more attuned to exploration and feeling immersed in the atmosphere while 1st person is better for shooting/ranged combat ( only ranged combat). Experiencing this massive, richly textured world through first person POV is...kind of a depressing thought.
