I can't come up with anything close to a definitive list for this, so I'll just shoot from the hip on this one:
1. "Bohemian Rhapsody," Queen (honestly, the fact this song is so far out ahead is part of why I have a hard time coming up with a top 10) "Be My Baby," The Ronettes "Closer," Nine Inch Nails "Hallelujah," originally by Leonard Cohen but I adore various covers of it "Hey Ya!," Outkast "Let's Stay Together," Al Green "Life on Mars," David Bowie "The Long and Winding Road," The Beatles (Let It Be... Naked version) "Runaway," Kanye West "Stan," Eminem
Not wholly satisfied with this list, but it's a start. Lately I've been listening to Roy Orbison's "Crying," Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill," and Spandau Ballet's "True" a lot so I want to give them a shout out.
Some great mentions in this thread so far. Narrowing my favorite songs down to 10 feels impossible, I'm not even going to try to rank them...
Time Consumer - Coheed and Cambria Father Electricity - The Voidz I Can't Win - The Strokes In Dreams - Roy Orbison Tenderness - General Public Sapokanikan - Joanna Newsom Incident on 57th Street - Bruce Springsteen Make Your Own Kind of Music - Mama Cass Mind’s Playin Tricks On Me - Geto Boys Going to Georgia - The Mountain Goats
Keeping it to one per artist (there'd be loads of Radiohead and Beatles otherwise) and pop/rock. The order is rough.
The Rain Song- Led Zeppelin Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen No Surprises- Radiohead Strawberry Fields Forever- The Beatles How Soon is Now- The Smiths All the Young Dudes- Mott the Hoople Teenage Dream- T Rex Shangri-La- The Kinks Beetlebum- Blur Teenage Riot- Sonic Youth
Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin Sunshine of Your Love - Cream Dogs - Pink Floyd How To Disappear Completely - Radiohead Waterloo Sunset - The Kinks In Dreams - Roy Orbison Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones The Seeker - The Who A Day In The Life - The Beatles The Chain - Fleetwood Mac
I can't say that I really have a definitive list. It changes from year to year, month to month, week to week, depending on what I'm listening to/in the mood for...
Right now -
Go Your Own Way - Lissie Love Sick - Bob Dylan There She Goes - The La's All Out Of Love - Air Supply Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - The Police To Hear You Say You’re Mine - Candi Staton We Can’t Be Friends - Lorene Scafaria Falling In Love - Sam Cooke All I Have To Do Is Dream - The Everly Brothers Long Long Time - Linda Ronstadt

Well shit that is quite the tall order (probably why I've not responded to this thread yet) ... here is my pathetic stab at it, keeping it one per artist ... and my favorite tracks for many of these artists will vary by day so this list sure ain't definite and would be different tomorrow:
"How to Disappear Completely" | Radiohead "Ceremony" | New Order/Joy Division "Space Oddity" | David Bowie "For Real" | Okkervil River "Into My Arms" | Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds "Heroin" | The Velvet Underground "Pink Rabbits" | The National "Say Yes" | Elliott Smith "Made of Stone" | The Stone Roses "Transatlanticism" | Death Cab for Cutie
