so people watched Mommy and voted for Dorval and not Clement. ok then otherwise this lineup is ok. The ScarJo snub stings, and Davis and Pike totally shouldn't be here but I get it. Double nod for Cotillard is nice and FINALLY Wild lands a nom (the most important one). And I like Dorval a lot and I'm glad she made it, it's just weird that voters didn't push Clement into the top 7, because this proves that people saw the movie.

Cage and Guy Pearce snubbed badly.
I got bored after a half hour of Calvary and haven’t seen Mr. Turner, so I can’t complain too much.

thank god Spall made it. No one huffs, puffs, and grunts better than Spall. Steve Carrell though? ehh. And no Oscar Isaac?

would be better w/o Fincher, but thank GOD Nolan missed for what might be his messiest, dumbest film.
And come to think of it, as much as I hate Gone Girl, I hate the screenplay A LOT more than Fincher's direction, so I can't even complain that much here.

Supporting Actress was by far the most tumultuous category. There was several other women who missed by just a point or two. NAME NAMES Keira Knightly, Suzanne Clément, Laura Dern, Emily Blunt and Marion Bailey were all on the cusp. Positions 4 through 12 were all within 5 points of each other.

And no "America for Me?" My #1 song of a strong year and nuthin'.
Also, I knew that none of my favorites stood a chance (not one of my top 7 made the BP lineup), but the shutout of A Most Violent Year hurts.
