I will definitely be checking this out. I think it looks great. Plus, Cox looks to be an absolute boss here.

Pilot was quite bad I thought. I liked the kinda King Lear esque premise and the creative team behind this: writer of In the Loop and Adam McKay. These guys are skilled and experienced comedy writers and here they're more or less going for a straight family drama, although there are (failed) taps of humor. But the writing just isn't good, at all. Cox is strong and doing something interesting but everyone else leaves little impact. Even worse, the pilot leaves you with barely any reason to keep on watching.

Brian Cox has always been an actor I wish had gotten more opportunity to showcase his extremely evident talent, and he always seems to either get eclipsed or straight-up ignored (I thought he was better than Redgrave in Coriolanus, for example, but she seemed to get most of the press for that one). I thought the trailer made it look a bit too overly frenetic for the sake of it, but Snook, Culkin and Strong looked like solid picks to hold their own against Cox. Sorry to hear it didn't stick the landing.

Well he always has his "oodles" line in Manhunter that totally schooled Hopkins' from his equivalent film (and was just as scary with only half the set pieces).

Not a great pilot, but not awful. If you wanna watch rich assholes screw each other over, I'd definitely recommend Billions, but since season 3 of that show just ended, this might be decent filler. Brian Cox is terrific, unsurprisingly and everyone else is decent at playing an asshole. Interesting elements but nothing that blew me away.
Noticed that the pilot had a lot of camera zooms. Not sure if this is going to be a staple of the series or just something Adam McKay felt like doing. I've got mixed feelings. I definitely enjoy it when directors try to do something interesting with the camera beyond just shot/reverse-shot type of stuff and the camera zooms definitely help give the show a unique style, but it also felt really distracting at several points. Maybe it's an acquired taste.

Well this show certainly grew on me. Season 1 finale was fantastic and season 2 has been off to a great start. Maybe it began as a straightforward drama but Succession has turned into one of the most hysterical dark comedies on TV. It still has plenty of serious moments but the show might be what I need to fill the void left by Veep. Both are about a bunch of horrible, privileged people creatively insulting each other.
Brian Cox is still MVP for me, but the whole cast is pretty terrific, Jeremy Strong is maybe 2nd, especially his work in the season 1 finale onward, but I love Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook’s performances as well.

I seriously can’t get over how Carrie Fisher incarnate Cherry Jones is, I mean, my god.

The fact that no one here has talked about Kendall's rap yet is a damn shame.

How do y'all rank the main cast?
Mine (I'm up to ep 2, S2):
Strong Macfadyen Snook Cox Braun Culkin Ruck Abbas (mostly because she's not given a whole lot to do)
Also props to Fitzgerald as Tabitha who has some of the funniest one-liners out of everyone.

I only just started watching this and I have to say that the only thing I'm more obsessed with right now than this show is its opening theme.

I started this a few days ago and am only a couple episodes in. I'd never heard of it before (love me some Snook), but as well acted as it is, it's really a lot of white rich people problems. I'm curious to see where it goes though.

6 episodes in and just 3 things: - Perfect casting for Logan Roy - Any scenes between Greg and Tom makes me so uncomfortable 🥶 - Sarah Snook ❤️
So far I like it. Looking forward to see how it pans out.

Six episodes in, this is absolutely riveting. Great blend of drama and sharp black comedy, with a flawless ensemble. If season 1 is this good, I can't wait to see what the much-hyped season 2 has in store.

Slowly working my way through this when I have the time, but I just have to say after (the excellent) ep. 5 (last one I've seen as of now) I think this has joined The Young Pope in my new favorite television subgenre of "HBO shows where boss James Cromwell briefly shows up to shout and put the main characters in their place."

I thought season 1 took a serious hit having that 6th episode right plum in the middle of the season, and as fine as whatever came after was it could never get anywhere close back to that height. Season 2 was so much better overall. Cox took OVER in the second, and the whole thing was all the better for it. Macfadyen and Braun still the heart and soul of the whole thing for me. Still don't think it's quite the show overall that some are making it out to be, but I definitely think it's heading in the right direction.

Sarah Snook deserves to be in the Lawrence/Stone category. The girl absolutely shines in every scene she's in. What a superstar!!❤️❤️ And almost done with the second season and I'm obsessed!

Just got up to 2x05 "Tern Haven," and I gotta say, that dinner scene is a fucking masterclass of acting, great dialogue that perfectly conveys each of the core characters, and deft direction that manages the entire sequence for at least 15 to 20 minutes. God I love this show.
And I love top-form Logan dropping what might be the quite to summarize the entire show: "You wanna know my favorite Shakespeare passage? Take the fuckin' money."

The fact that no one here has talked about Kendall's rap yet is a damn shame. This was the only specific scene I knew about before watching the show and had seen a few lines from it in meme form, and even still it somehow surpassed all expectations. I couldn't contain myself
