ooof.... Maestro falls out of Netflix's Top 10 four days after release.
Hope this translates to a complete shut-out at the Oscars. There is no way in hell a movie that was this genetically designed to be an Oscar contender gets completely shut out . . . but there is blood in the water. Cooper's campaigning already seems to be chafing a lot of people, too. Motherfucker didn't learn his lesson from his "I was role-playing drunk behind the camera for A Star Is Born" which cost him that Director nod. Other studios can step it up now. Put Giamatti on that circuit and have a full-blitz charm offensive. Murphy's chillness is his campaign, where he lets the work speak for itself and he talks about eating cheese instead of all the hours he spent learning how to conduct (as memes come out showing Tom Cruise conducting on the fly for Mission: Impossible III).

Just dropping this here for the praise - get up bitches, praise me now, like my posts now - if you play your cards right I'll tell you why The Preacher's Wife isn't funny - why Greta Gerwig ain't missing in Director and who will win the Australian Open in January too ........ Predict this year's acting winners Oct 1, 2023 at 7:44am QuoteEditlikePost Options Post by pacinoyes on Oct 1, 2023 at 7:44amI have no idea why people think Cooper is winning BA - not people in this thread - just in general - the posted reviews rarely (?) mention him as the standout in his own movie even..........and his own movie is not perceived as that good anyway - when you have to ride dumbass Robbie Collin ffs and his backhanded 5 star review (which reads a lot like a 3 star review tbh) you're stretching it......Netflix can't promote him because he's not winning precursors as far as I can tell (see how they did for Driver and Cumby btw).......I must be misreading the room entirely..........which wouldn't be the first time ......but not buying the "this is Cooper's year" thing.......it's still not until I see evidence to the contrary......wasn't PTA's either .....just sayin'

Because the average Netflix viewer is not the target audience for this movie, it’s the average academy voter

All he needs is to get those AMPAS/Guild asses in the screening rooms... which by all accounts has been happening

Oh honeys, I hated it.
I wonder if this is the reason why it has dropped off the list. I've never seen anything so egotistical and megalomaniac in my whole life, have you?!
I've told my assistant not to take any calls in case Bradley phones and begs me to endorse his movie... but I just can't!

I don't get the fuzz made about Maestro dropping off the Netflix top ten list after four days when that happens to almost all award contenders. May December dropped off the list in the same time and I don't recall anyone downplaying Melton's chances because of it.
Do these people also ridicule Oscar contenders with a wide theatrical release by comparing their box office to that of blockbusters? Of course these type of films are seen less by the general public.
The Academy didn't care that literally nobody of the general public saw Coda and still awarded it so I doubt they even consider Maestro's lackluster viewing numbers.
