I always like when they release those anonymous ballots every year because they are a necessary reminder that you just can't take the actual Oscar wins too seriously. People vote for the most moronic reasons.

I'm scared that Gosling seems to have as much support as he does from the leaked ballots. Did you read the new brutally honest ballot I posted about Gosling? ""Ryan Gosling is very charming and likable, but I don't think he gave an Oscar-level performance — he gets an A for effort, but not an AA [Academy Award] because the Oscars aren't for effort, they're for achievement. The other four are all wonderful. " This was the 2nd ballot from HR not impressed with him.

I'm starting to think Emma wins by default. People like her but they are not impressed with her singing and dancing.

She's an idiot, but I don't think anyone's surprised. Not that it means much, though, since we get these brutally honest Oscar voters every year, and the front-runner wins regardless.

My god, they both sound so ignorant. No wonder that the "safe bets" usually win. And the reasons for not voting for them.. "I didnt like the movie so the actress is out" "When youre raped you dont act like that" "The kid was annoying so I didnt vote for that movie" pretty sure we do the same thing. At times, sure. But I, for example, gave Terrence Malick a Director nod (and I think even the win) for Tree of Life, although I found the movie incredibly boring. The directing, however, was amazing. I think you gotta be more "credit where credit is due" about the whole thing. If I were an Oscar voter I'd at least try to be impartial about it. And come on, have you never nominated someone from a movie you didnt like but found their acting to be outstanding? It for sure isnt black or white..

I just don't understand some of those people's motivations here. I mean, even if it's anonymous, why would you post text that clearly makes you appear like a total idiot ?

lol these are always the most fun part of the award season. They are probably not even legit. Just read, cringe-laugh and move on.

Some people will have a hard time being objective period. Look at ballot 4, she didn't watch hidden figures cause someone told him it wasn't an oscar movie. She cold hAve at least took 10 mins of her tI'm and watched some of it. People just like to bring their own bias into the game and this happens in peer review.

The time to seat down to give an interview for the Oscar, but not to just watch all the best picture candidate, is a bit strange, not surprised that he had some message to tell : movies that are nominated these days are B movies that they've elevated to A movieswhy do they waste money on that kind of thing?Seem to be much more the motivation for giving in interview than actually talk about the nominees or maybe making those very short resume of a long talk make them sound simpler then they were and is the goal of the interviewer.
