Got an XBox gift card for my Oscar picks. Decided on getting Knights of the Old Republic from the XBox Store.

Geez. You get snippy with one bar patron, suddenly a bunch of Greedos start shooting you.

It's been a long while since I've played the first... but the second is even better. Also for the Steam version, you can download the unofficial patch that adds in some of the content that wasn't released with the original version. Make sure to talk to your companions as they expand their backstory and open up more and more options and missions.

I really hated the second one for whatever reason, don't remember why since it was so long ago. Anyway, this was my favorite game back when I played them. The overall story actually isn't much, but the characters and general writing quality are so much better than what you generally get in games that it made it so immersive. It's better than nearly all of the actual Star Wars movies.

Are you going full-on blaster or a melee lightsaber...er? Cuz if you're getting a little disappointed with melee early game, that's because it sucks early game. But it gets much better, to the point where on my main character I don't think I put points into any blaster skills. Also be sure one of your companions has high computer/repair skill. Just a heads up to save some heartache.

Though, the wookie planet in II and everything involving it was just horrid. Hated that place with a giant passion.

I’m going full on melee, as part of the elaborate life story I gave my character (I have way too much fun making these backstories for build-your-own characters).

Good man.

It's so friggin amazing that it has made me lose interest in watching films or playing anything else.
Being on the Light Side has never felt this good.

Dark side has the best offensive powers. Gotta do what I do and lay somewhere in the middle so all powers only have moderate costs.
