I feel like DC/WB seems to be dominating TV. Too bad they aren't in a connected universe or share the same network as Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends but I like Gotham. It's kind of a weird origins story that hasn't been done before. I really like Oswald and Ed, their scenes are incredible.
I like Gordan's struggle with the next villain that comes up next. I really like Jerome, he's a great Joker tie over until the films come out. I think this show is good. It gets a lot of flack because it's different I guess. I find myself watching the stories each time it airs. It sort of seems like a retconned version of all these iconic Batman characters thrown together.
What do you guys think? Rate/vote above.

I watched the first four episodes when they came out, and got tired of it. Maybe I'll give it another go one day.

Season 1 was pretty damn average but I'm now part way through Season 2 and it's gotten a lot better. Streamlining all the different plots was a smart idea and I absolutely love the villain performances from Cory Michael Smith, Robin Lord Taylor and of course Cameron Monaghan.

I like that they made Alfred kick ass and Jim Gordon too. It's quite brilliant sometimes. It's like Smallville for Batman.

It started out fine, but I progressively started losing interest before the first season was over. The show is great at atmosphere, and I really liked the modernized reinterpretations of the classic villains (Catwoman being a standout), but the show had way too much going on at any given time. Unlike shows like Boardwalk Empire that evenly split time spent with characters (or made time for others by cutting those characters out when they weren't needed), this couldn't help but shoehorn every single character into each episode, whether or not they were even relevant or important to the story. I know Batman's gonna be important, but do we really need Bruce and Alfred in every episode? Or how about Nygma getting five seconds of sinister quirkiness every time (we get it, he's gonna be evil)? It just made it feel wildly uneven in pace and structure. I haven't watched since, so I don't know if things got better.

It's really come a long way and is pretty damn good. Much better than anything on the CW.

I think it's a show that's grown to be likable. Getting better as it goes.
