2016 was a great year for this and I hope it continues! I'm a fan of Insecure and Queen Sugar. Need to get into Atlanta and Black-ish before it's too late. I already watch HTGAWM.
Thoughts on this, re: TV diversity?

I don't care what skin color the people on my screen are. It's not that I'm intentionally trying to be colorblind, I honestly don't give a shit. It's not like there's a huge problem with discrimination in Hollywood, it's pretty proportionate to the population of the US- so even if I did focus on it there wouldn't be a problem.

It's not like there's a huge problem with discrimination in Hollywood, it's pretty proportionate to the population of the US- so even if I did focus on it there wouldn't be a problem. i would wager most people here don't consciously care that much, but there's internal stuff in all of us. which is fine to an extent - we're all a bit prejudiced and there's racial aspects to p much everything (who you interact with, how you talk to those people, etc.). there's a p decent problem with discrimination in hollywood depending on how you view it. the utter lack of female directors, asian stars, etc. are all pretty prevalent issues (which have admittedly gotten better over the years) and it's certainly a huge issue for some people, sure (trying to get into the movie world as an indian actor in the US is next-to-impossible, plenty of similar examples). race plays a huge role in the world and simply turning a blind eye to any aspect of racial struggle or diversity is questionable.

I understand where you're coming from, and agree to an extent, but I also think there are other contributing factors other than discrimination. For example, Asians make up 5 percent of the US population and 5 percent of Hollywood stars (rough statistics that I just looked up, they could definitely be off). Also, women and men generally have different priorities in life (I'm sure some of this is due to societal influence), but it isn't as big of a problem as some people make it out to be.
