I know it's a competitive year for lead actresses, but please don't overlook Melanie Lynskey in I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Rooney Mara in Una, Kristen Stewart in Personal Shopper and Florence Pugh in Lady Macbeth.

I haven't seen too much, but here goes:
Colossal Best Actress -- Anne Hathaway
A Ghost Story Best picture Best director Best actor -- Casey Affleck (I know I'll be alone here, but what the hell) Best supporting actress -- Rooney Mara Best original song Best original score
Your Name* Best animated film
*I know that Your Name technically got an Oscar qualifying run last year, but that was a single week in L.A. that saw its distributor drop the ball. The film had a real release towards the beginning of Summer, and that's when people actually had a chance to watch it.

@ jamesh5 nice seeing more support for Sacred Deer, Lost City of Z, Stiller, Vinaite, and Maslany. I'll try to see Lady Macbeth and A Quiet Passion soon. I think that Lady Macbeth is a decent film in its own right, however as a whole it pales in comparison to what Pugh manages to do in her role. A Quiet Passion, for me, wasn’t very engaging but I found Nixon to be pretty incredible. That said I know a fair few people that consider A Quiet Passion to be in the realm of best of the year and I think you might like it a lot more than myself too so it might make a splash in some of your other categories.

Andy Serkis. That is all. For what? Honestly, I'd have loved his previous performances as Caesar to get in, but I don't see what he did this time around. But then, my distaste for the whole movie is possibly clouding my judgment.

just saw God's Own Country A beautiful romance film brimming with unspoken feeling and intimacy. Josh O'Connor was remarkable at keeping his characters' feelings hidden until they pour forth in a final confession of love that's just breathtaking. The supporting work from Ian Hart and Gemma Jones was beautiful and touching, especially towards the end when their kindness begin to break through crusty exteriors. FYC for all three of them. PLEASE WATCH IT

Instead of listing out everything I want my favorites to be nominated for (which is a lot, I've tried), I'll hone in on the main ones I think more attention should be brought to:
Phantom Thread across the board. I know a lot of people haven't seen it yet, but please make an effort to do so. Picture, Director, Day-Lewis, Krieps, Manville, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Score, Editing, Production Design, Costume Design. It should get in for all of them.
Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049. Don't forget about the same film for Villeneuve, Hoeks, Adapted Screenplay, and Visual Effects.
Brooklynn Prince and Bria Vinaite in The Florida Project. Also gonna plug the cinematography, screenplay, and ensemble cast.
Lady Bird's score and editing may be overlooked, and probably shouldn't be.
Michael Shannon in The Shape of Water. And this should sweep (or mop) the floor with techs, but in particular the cinematography, score, editing, and production design cannot be ignored.
Columbus for its screenplay, cinematography, and lead actress Haley Lu Richardson.
Hugh Jackman in Logan.
The cinematography of T2 Trainspotting.
Mark Hamill in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. (Also, visual effects! And cinematography, if there's room for it.)
Kumail Nanjiani and Holly Hunter in The Big Sick.
The score and editing of Good Time.
Sandler and Marvel in The Meyerowitz Stories. The screenplay and cast aren't too shabby, either.
Will Poulter in Detroit.
Barry Keoghan in The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
A Ghost Story's editing and original song.
Jeremy Renner in Wind River.
Meryl.
The score of Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Michael Stuhlbarg in Call Me By Your Name.
The sound design of It.
Special wild card: Stephen Dillane in Darkest Hour! We have ten nominees, let's make it happen people!
