When it comes to 'Jurassic Park' series, most people seem to agree that 'Jurassic Park' is the best in the series and 'Jurassic Park 3' is the worst.
When it comes to 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' and 'Jurassic World', however, opinions seems to differ. Some prefer more of a prehistoric action adventure film in modern setting of the latter while others prefer more of a science fiction horror film of the former.
Here's my question. Out of those two, which one do you prefer and why?

I think I would probably give the edge to Jurassic World. It was the much tighter film and that worked in its favour for me. The Lost World most definitely had some killer sequences, but it just felt too long and messy.

JW has its flaws, but I was excited to finally see the park opened. I also liked the meta nature of it. The product placement gags, them inventing the new dinosaur to be "bigger" and "better", the one guy commenting on how the original Jurassic Park was the best, the T-Rex knocking down the Spinosaurus skeleton, etc.
TLW is an overlong, pretentious, mean-spirited rehash of the first film with the ending of King Kong tacked on. In fact, I even liked the third one more. That one at least knew it was stupid.

Jurassic World by far. At least it wasn't dull and boring.

I think "Jurassic World" is the worst in the series. I actually quite enjoy "III" - I think it works genuinely well as a fast-paced 90-minute silly dinosaur B-movie which just happens to have great production values. And I enjoy "The Lost World" as well - I like that it has a more primal 'jungle hunt' vibe to it, and it features several killer sequences.
"Jurassic World" was just absolutely bland, in my opinion. Somewhat entertaining, but overall very mediocre in terms of its filmmaking and just not that engaging. The absence of good characters certainly worked against it. And the effects were surprisingly cartoony.

I actually think The Lost World is the worst. I have quite a bit of fun with III and it's probably the one I've seen the most after the original. So for the poll I say Jurassic World all the way.

Jurassic World may feel too much like a corporate product, but The Lost World is almost irredeemably bad. Pete Postlethwaite and the final twenty minutes save it from being a complete waste of time, but I can't believe the same team behind the miraculous first film made this preachy, hackneyed flick. The "heroes" are assholes who are completely incompetent and who are responsible for all of the deaths in the film (seriously, Nick and Sarah are my least favorite cinematic characters in history for this very reason), the raptors are taken down several notches in threat-level because a 90-pound girl gym-kicked one to death, Goldblum is barely conscious throughout the proceedings, and the one decent character in the whole thing (Eddie) dies because of the incompetence of his "friends." Fuck The Lost World.

Jurassic World probably, although I don't hate TLW. I actually enjoy some sequences in it.
TLW definitely had the better Dinosaur designs, though, but that's because they were still allowed to more practical effects even back in 1997 before CGI really took over.

Jurassic World by far. I didn't like The Lost World or JP3.

Have seen The Lost World countless times over the years, and am yet to find it anything less than entertaining and very watchable. Have seen Jurassic World twice, and already struggle to take it seriously. It's like Jurassic Park 3 with a bigger budget. That fact alone almost makes me hate it more. The whole corporate/consumer excess thing doesn't work if you become the very thing that you're attempting to be critical of, and this movie is (among many other things) a 2 hour Mercedes commercial.

Lost World. It's dumb, but it's slightly less dumb than Jurassic World.

TLW is a meaner and slightly more dumbed down sequel, but it has a few good scenes that make it great. However, Jurassic World brought out the child like wonder I hadn't experienced since the first film.

I don't particularly like either, but Jurassic World... then again, I haven't seen Lost World in probably 15 years.

Jurassic World. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt carry the film and keep it entertaining. The Lost World drags at times.
