I can possess and control a motherfucking T-Rex, you guys! 10/10. Best game ever made!
But seriously, I’m a few hours into it, and it’s already frigging amazing. Gonna give it a break to try out Zelda, but I’m gonna be obsessed with this game, I can tell.

Any comparison to Galaxy (probably my favorite platforming Mario)?

Any comparison to Galaxy (probably my favorite platforming Mario)? I can’t say for sure, because I never actually finished Galaxy (but what I played was pretty damn incredible), but just going by presentation, it’s hard to judge since they’re going for different things. It feels like Galaxy if it weren’t set in space, even opening in a similar manner, but this one is less about wowing you with the scale and twisting maps, and more built in the conventional Mario mold. But there’s also a greater focus on humor and the oddball quirks of the worlds Mario visits, including the aforementioned fact that Mario is accompanied by a talking hat that can possess damn near any kind of living thing you see. So it’s constantly pushing you to play in new and fun ways, and even when you’re just fucking around (I had way too much fun with that Rex), you may accidentally stumble on a reward. And anytime you do get a Power Moon (this game’s stars), it doesn’t force you out and make you pick a new mission anymore. You just keep playing and exploring at your own pace. And I love that. I have to go back and finish Galaxy before deciding which is better, but this ion it’s own is so thoroughly enjoyable.
