As an aside I love Mr. Robots Only watched the first season, but I LOVED the look of it. I'd also add: Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul (when they're not trying so hard). True Detective. Hannibal. Stranger Things. Friday Night Lights. Daredevil. |

Yeah, I was gonna say Fargo and Hannibal. The Young Pope is also outstanding in that respect, and Penny Dreadful had its moments of brilliance.

Lots of good mentions here, Hannibal is jaw dropping.
Most recently, I'd say Atlanta's cinematography was very impressive.

I'm binging "Twin Peaks" right now and I must say that I think it uses the square ratio quite effectively. And I especially command its use of color which really emphasizes the browns and the reds. You just subconsciously start to feel like everything around you is made from wood, you almost feel the smell of it thanks to the effect the visuals have.
