I can't stand those who keep saying "Goodmorning" after 12 noon. i say “good mornafternoon” a lot because it sorta becomes mindless until about halfway through the word

One new one for me is 'iconic'.
In the last year or two, due to huge overuse, this word has ceased to mean anything. To me at least, it has taken on a new meaning, that of flavour of the day...not even month.

Cuss / Cussin' / Cussing
I know they are just alternatives of Curse / Cursin' / Cursing, but I hate how they sound in my ear.
Also when people say crutch instead of crotch, it makes me unreasonably annoyed. In fact it isn't unreasonable, the word is crotch, just say it.

Just on MAR alone - yesterday - in ONE day .........in one thread: * Misuse of the word "easily" (ie "I could "easily" see Denzel getting 4 Oscar nominations after age 65"!) - Ok, maybe you can see it, maybe you are high or have problems with maths .......but no one has done it.....ever....... so it wont be "easily" .......in fact, you actually denigrate the accomplishment if he did do it ......... when you call it "easy" ........ * People capitalizing everything - like the word EASILY - to emphasize how badly they are misusing the word "easily" * People saying the word "And"? as a response.........there doesn't have to be an "And" - example: "Denzel Washington is great..........but doesn't have a BAFTA, a good filmography or comic work" - that's it.......it's a sentence........it's like people saying " And now what?".......and now nothing - contemplate it, while I go have a beer - what are you going to do throw a punch? Also aside from those: * The misspelling of the word "power" as in "powah" - ie "Nicole kidman is the queen of TV - her "powah!".....it's like a borderline racist language trope white people do all the time .........the same with "Do your thannnnnnnnnnng" Wtf is that? * It's cringey - although I do this a lot by goofing on Kanye and saying "I'mma let you finish" all the time which I even find annoying when I do it............ * "This is not debatable" - It must be fncking debatable, we're debating it, no? You don't win a debate by telling someone something "isn't debatable" - that's fascist debating......or something * The term "fascist debating" which I just made up and has not aged well.........

Part 2: The laidback Weed-head Fleetwood Mac / Eagles Surfer California type of non-confrontational language: "Chill out"..............."My bad"................."Mellow" I like weed as much as the next guy ...........but not nearly as much as beer........ and I sort of like some of Rumours........but not nearly as much as Damaged......it is your bad, so apologize you hippie - "my bad" that is not an apology - wtf is that - where were you raised? ........also don't tell me to "chill out", I'll burst every blood vessel in my head if I want to - I've had a lot of coffee - Mr. / Ms. Walking Avocado Spread on Toast ....... I have a little cousin who has entered a new phase of answering anything you say with: "Good for you." It seems positive but not when said with a villainous level of sarcasm and it stings worse every time! also always deeply hated the phrase "Sold like hot cakes" tho idk how popular that is anymore

"For my money" with the word "personally"Another way to say "In my opinion" which is also stupid - I'm talking to you, I know it's "your" opinion and "your money" ......what does your money have to do with what you said? Does someone make you "pay" for sharing your POV? That's not only pretentious.......it's capitalism ....which I like .........but is really unpopular these days (um)......that phrase exploits the wage gap.......or something........it's also wealth porn......maybe........which isn't even the good kind of porn....... for my money I'd say personally that everything is ridiculously pissing me off nowadays with regards to almost all phrases - honestly, everyone should just stop talking around me for a while

In honor of Dave Chappelle's "Closer" Netflix special - I can't stand the phrase "punching down"........this is a ridiculous shorthand that implies that on the social hierarchy scale the "privileged" are ALWAYS "punching down" on those lower on the scale if they have any disagreement with them........which is demonstrably false - not that it doesn't happen - of course it does - but the implication that it always happens is patently absurd. When someone uses that phrase politically to me I always wince - it's shorthand for thinking - it allows the political Left in this country (the US) to eliminate serious dialog, change the actual meaning of words, and bully those to whom that phrase is directed. (This is a "Left" thing, the Right have their own things) In movie terms, I'm not beating up on Spike Lee when I say he's overrated ........... I'm not "punching down" on him..........it's just ...........he's just not that fncking good.

There's this new thing the kids (by kids I mean the Gen-Z crowd) are saying and it's "bet" in response to things. It's pretty much the equivalent of "okay" or "alright" and it sounds absolutely ridiculous.

I can't stand those who keep saying "Goodmorning" after 12 noon. My roommate and I love to speak to each other in spongebob quotes so I make it a habit to say “Good morning, Krusty Krew” even if I walk out of my room after waking up at 2:30pm Speaking of waking up at 2:30pm, GOOD MORNING KRUSTY KREW. Sorry, roommate’s at work so I couldn’t hit him with it

Just from one DAY going into the office - 2 new things - : "Rest in power" - nobody "rests in power" dumbass - I know it's supposed to be nice and "empowering" - but they're dead let them have peace. That sh it trivializes death - you go do something with the power of being alive, ok? "By consensus" - Unless this is followed by "everyone has now decided to kill me so I stop saying stupid things" - it's meaningless - like why do I care what people who I think are idiots and I can't stand anyway all agreed on?

I loved "the hell out of it" or any of its variations (i.e. "I dug the hell out of it").

“Yikes” “My dude, my pal, my good bitch” “ *checks notes*” “I didn’t have [insert unexpected event] on my bingo card” “Heckin’ doggo/pupper” “It’s the ______ for me” “Normalize ______” “Decolonize your bookshelf/wardrobe/kitchen”
People misusing and overusing these terms: - “gaslighting” when they really mean regular old lying! Lying works. Use lying. Don’t use gaslighting which is a serious psychological term referring to abuse in relationships - “toxic” when they mean bad - “trauma” when they mean memories. Even unpleasant memories are not trauma - “abuse” when they mean rude or disrespectful
People also categorizing EVERYTHING as millennial or gen z or boomer. It’s gone overboard. At first generational labels were fun but now everything is viewed through that lens, and it’s irritating beyond belief
