Both great performances (though in very different ways) - who's your choice?
Paulson brings her trademark intensity to Marcia Clark - this is a powerful performance - but as I've said before, the intensity is primarily surface-level. Dunst seems to draw from a deep reservoir of lost dreams and deadly ennui to create her eccentric, entirely unique character. This is a quiet performance that is equally as intense as Paulson's - simply in a more measured way.
I think it's great that Paulson finally won an Emmy - and make no mistake, this was a fine performance for which to win - it's just a shame that it had to be at Dunst's expense.
