God, this show just keeps going down the rabbit hole, doesn't it?
All in all, a step up from the first season (there's nothing here as middling as the pilot), delving deeper into the pitch black satire and grim endings, and wringing more mileage out of the technological overload of the modern day. It feels so utterly bizarre and mind-bending (the ending of "White Christmas" was one of the most sadistic things I've seen put to film), yet in a strange way doesn't feel too detached from the real world. "Be Right Back", in particular, stands as my favorite episode of the series thus far with its sharp writing and engaging emotions.
I know watching the series in order isn't necessary, but doing so has really helped me appreciate how far the creators have come, making leaps both in craft and in storytelling.
So excited to check out season 3 (and see my girl Bryce hopefully knock it out of the park).

I actually found the second season to be a slight step-down from the first. I think all three of the first season's episodes are great, and it includes the finest episode of the series yet ("The Entire History of You"). The only episode from the second season I absolutely love is "White Christmas," which should technically be considered independent from any season of the series and should just stand on its own.
Still, I like "Be Right Back" quite a lot, "White Bear" has improved on re-watches, and I've always felt the hate for "The Waldo Moment" to be far too excessive, despite the fact that it is a weak link. Definitely a solid season all around, and probably overall better than the third (which, despite its highs, also has the lowest lows of the series -- I warn you now, beware of "Playtest" and "Men Against Fire.").

Be Right Back is the most depressing episode for me. It was fantastic but Jesus Christ did it make me sad
I adored White Christmas, my 3rd favorite episode after Shut Up and Dance and San Junipero, you're gonna LOVE season 3!

Season 2 is probably my least favourite so far, but that's only because the bar is set so damn high by the others. "Be Right Back" is an absolute stunner and my second favourite of the series, while "White Bear"'s is twisted and haunting in the best way. "Waldo Moment" is the show at its worst, but even that is 'meh' more than anything.
Season 3 is really great on the whole. One or two are pretty forgettable, but "San Junipero" (the best of the best) more than makes up for it. Bryce gives what might be the show's best performance too in "Nosedive".

What. The. FUCK. That was one of the most intense, soul-scarring things I've ever seen. My heart was racing well past the credits. I tend to like stories where things go from bad to worse for the protagonist, but holy shit. 10/10, probably my second favorite BM episode after "San Junipero", but I'm terrified to watch it again with my girlfriend.

First episode of the show I watched. Fucked me up so much that it took me a while to return to the show. Still my favorite episode because it got the biggest emotional reaction out of me.
One of the best twists I've seen in a while, too. Brilliant episode. Plus it used a Radiohead song at the end, which is just cheating for me.

Such a grim, great episode. I'd put it around the middle of all episodes, because it loses its impact on repeat viewings (which the similar "White Bear" does not, imo). But that first-time watch left me flawed, and borderline haunted.

Best episode of the show, hands down, and one of the most soul-wrenching hours I've endured.

John Hillcoat is directing an episode. It's rumoured to be titled 'Crocodile' and has two female leads, one of which may be played by Andrea Riseborough. Link to ArticleThoughts?

nice, can they spoil other directors as well. Not sure if you know this but it has been confirmed by Brooker himself that one episode will be directed by Jodie Foster.

yup. surprised its not ranked higher on peoples lists. easily top 3 for me with san junipero and nosedive. seriously one of the best, most unexpected twists, in a long time. the whole time im thinking, dude, its a jerk off video, it cant be that bad. the thought of him being a pedo doesnt ever cross your mind because hes so young. its brilliant.

My favorite episode of the show. Very entertaining throughout until the conclusion which was completely shocking and devastating. It puts a very disturbing spin on some of the scenes when you rewatch it, knowing everything.

Best episode of the show, hands down, and one of the most soul-wrenching hours I've endured. What did you think of "San Junipero"? Masterpiece, overhyped, or something in the middle? I doubt I'll love any of the episodes as much as that one (I'm going through the show completely out of order), but "Shut Up And Dance" is a very close second. I can't remember the last time I've watched something with such relentless tension. It's downright nightmarish by the end.

It's a lovely episode, bolstered by three amazing performances (the actress who played Older Kelly is underrated) and a soundtrack to die for . . . but I find it a rather thin episode in comparison to "Shut Up and Dance" and "Nosedive."

Same, it doesn't help that San Junipero's most powerful scene for me was Kelly pointing out how fake this place was, only to betray all of that and stay in a 'happy ending'
Very overhyped episode for me

So I tried watching this show from the beginning awhile back. I watched, I think, the first three episodes and I just was not into them. Should I give it another shot? Any particular episodes or seasons I should start with? Please don't say the first three from season 1.

Any particular episodes or seasons I should start with? Please don't say the first three from season 1. Back in 2013, I started the show. Watched the pilot, "The National Anthem", and was definitely impressed but decided to pass halfway through the second episode because I found it to mean spirited and held off the rest of the show until I started watching season 3 and found it way more accessible and probably easier way to break in new viewers. For you I'd recommend... "Nosedive" (3x01) "San Junipero" (3x04) "Be Right Back" (2x01) "White Christmas" (Christmas Special, kind of 2x04) If you like mystery/nordic noir/detective thrillers/crime procedurals then "Hated in the Nation" (3x06) is great. If you like really bleak horror then "White Bear" (2x02) could be your thing.
