Weirdly edited trailer but i dig the subject matter. I like how Tesla is revealed, they played it for nerds like me.

It's a thing that exists.

the cinematography feels totally wrong for the subject matter. why won't the goddamn camera stop moving?

the cinematography feels totally wrong for the subject matter. why won't the goddamn camera stop moving? Why would it feel wrong for this when electricity is defined by movement? Anyway, I don't think this looks great either. It looks like it was directed by Tom Hooper (although I dig two of his films).

Because it's a corporate thriller/drama (going by the premise). I don't know, the cinematography just looks really gaudy to me.

Something feels... off. I don't know if it's the way the trailer is edited, the dialogue delivery or the inconsistent cinematography choices.

Doesn't look as good as I wanted...Tesla's reveal felt like an Avengers trailer

Poor Nicholas Hoult. Things can really change fast in less than a year. He just came off the success of The Favourite, only to have at least two bombs perhaps three bombs this year with Tolkien, Dark Phoenix, and The Current War.

In the case of Dark Phoenix, I attributed that to his general lack in terms of picking good blockbusters outside of Mad Max, but Tolkien is supposed to be a bore, and The Current War is apparently not very good, and is now just getting released, after some reshoots, and flopping at festivals. Not great Bob! He can definitely rebound, though. Just needs to find a good script, and work with a good director, again.

It was only released at TIFF. Apparently there’s been some work done in the editing room due to the initial negative reviews so I wonder if it’ll have a better reception when it’s finally released.
