For those who don't know the difference is...
Any%/Just beating it- A run with no additional completion requirements; anything goes (eg. 70 stars without glitches in Super Mario 64).
100%- A run with a completion requirement of collecting 100% of the items (eg. 120 stars in SM64).
For me, it depends on the game, but I love getting extra stuff so 100%ing it.

It's just a miracle if I finish the game...

Depends on the game. If it's an RPG or some other action heavy game, I'll definitely try to get as much done and as much out of it as I can, but completing it 100% is very low on my list of priorities. Definitely not a requirement for me.
If it's a platformer and a collectathon like the ones from Rare, however, you bet I'll be searching everywhere to 100% it (or 101, like they typically do). Those types of games, I will lose sleep over.

Depends on the game, but I almost always try to 100% it... ESPECIALLY if it's an RPG (but sadly with those 100%ing it is near impossible when there are actual choices to be made ala Fallout series). Im pokemon, I make sure to go against each and every trainer I come across (except maybe in the water paths where I just want to stop running into tentacools every 7 steps and get to the other side).
However, with platformers, not so much. I'm not very good at them so me just beating it is a big deal (for instance I still can't beat Mario I or III). With Super Mario Galaxy, I got all but one star (stupid purple star on the board with the dissolving platforms... and I tried that like 100+ times).

I don't think I've ever 100% any game before (unless it's a game like The Walking Dead: Telltale Series) where beating the game means you 100% completed it.

I cannot leave a quest unsolved. It drives me nuts early in games when I have like 8 active quests all of which are incomplete. As for platformers, yeah... I suck at them... and if they're 2D, then I'm fucking hopeless.

Most of the time getting 100% is 50% boring collectibles and repetitive side quests anyways, so I just beat the game, and do any side stuff if it proves entertaining/expands on the lore in some meaningful way, or gives me some upgrade/bonus item I actually want. The rest is just fluff.

I've beaten two GTA games.. Vice City and San Andreas but didn't 100%ed them. You got to collect all the stuff and play side missions etc., to reach 100% and most of this side stuff is boring.

Funny you mentioned SA, because I made a 100% attempt using guides and walkthroughs...and yet...I only had 99.53%. Fucking hell! I used the SA checklist and it seems I got everything. Either the game glitched or maybe I missed something. But it's hard to tell because the game doesn't tell what you did and didn't do unlike the latter GTA games like V.
