What was the preview number for Gravity and Interstellar? Gravity - 1.4, Interstellar - 3.5. Keep in mind that both films were released before the 6 am early screenings that a lot of films receive these days.

Hell of a debut weekend. No doubt the reviews helped but the lure of Nolan himself is real.

$50M for a WW2 film with non US backdrop and no major stars shows the power of Nolan's name. Of course the reviews helped too.

I'm really happy for Dunkirk but also quite sad for Apes. Having the same target audience as Dunkirk did it no favours.

Wednesday numbers:
Dunkirk - $5,171,437 Girls Trip - $3,157,075 Spider-Man: Homecoming - $2,787,501
That's a bit of a drop for Dunkirk. Less then 40% drop second weekend seems out of the question.

At $160 million it has done well, its a good respectable number showing that people like it and it is one of the rare films these days that are not animated or superhero-oriented to get to that point.

At the rate it's going, it's going to pass Interstellar. For an original hard to sell property that is terrific. Nolan is basically in a class of his own.

So today I learned that Harry Styles was not Fionn Whitehead.
This entire time, I thought it was Styles in the lead only to find out he's actually just one of the soldiers on the Dutch boat.

According to Wikipedia,it is closing in on $400 million Which is insane given the fact that there are no stars in front of the camera.
