Just saw Manchester By the Sea and just... WOW. Incredible film. Affleck better win. If I remember correctly this place is kind of split on Hedges but I thought he was terrific.

It's also my favorite of the year. Hedges was obnoxious as hell but I thought it was a pretty realistic depiction of a snarky teenager going through what he was.

I never got thelove for it, there is some great stuff in there, but it just really lost me in that melodramatic scene at the end with michelle. I really wanted to love this, but it just left me kind of cold. Great acting, script and editing though.

My #2 of the year after Arrival. Phenomenal and powerful stuff I can't wait to revisit.

One of the biggest surprises of award season, I was really dreading it and thought it looked beyond unappealing and mediocre to the point of holding it off for the longest time but was blown away by its raw emotions and fantastic acting when I reluctantly watched it. And you know what? I'm looking forward rewatching it again. Jumped straight to my #3 of the year.
