Don't now if anybody is interested in this. For the first time since 2011 a medal in the men's singles will go to a player, who is not from China, as the Korean Lee Sangsu, who beat two-time world champions Zhang Jike along the way, reached the semifinal.
The other two quarterfinals will start soon, both are Chinese - Japanese duels. In the first Fan Zhendong is the favorite against Koki Niwa. In the second one the only 13-year old Tomokazu Harimoto will take on Xu Xin. The Chinese again is the favorite, but Xu isn't always the most reliable player and can't always cope well with pressure, which surely will be immense.

The expected final between Ma and Fan was one of the greatest matches I've seen. Ma retained his title with a 4-3-win, winning the last set just 12-10. The level of play was amazing.
